SOURCE: 2001 pontiac when it shift it jumps and recently engine light on?

Transmission pressure control sensor. $30.00 part. Common problem with Azteks. You have to remove side transmission cover to access. Would advise taking to dealer.Cost for me with a tranny fluid and filter change & and sensor replaced was $232.00 ...not too bad for a dealer doing the work. (lol)

SOURCE: my transmission is slipping when accelerating from

The forward clutches are going bad is the most likely problem. To repair the trans should be rebuilt.

Changing transmission cooling lines 2001 Pontiac Grand Am Gt. when installing the top line, the one with the rubber seal on it. part 24221233,ideals or video's

Here are the steps to install the transmission cooling line with a rubber seal on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT:
  1. Raise the vehicle: Use a jack and jack stands to lift the front of the car off the ground.
  2. Locate the transmission cooler lines: The transmission cooler lines are located on the passenger side of the vehicle near the front of the transmission.
  3. Remove the old transmission cooling line: Use a wrench to loosen the fitting where the old transmission cooling line connects to the transmission. Slide the fitting away from the transmission and let the old line drain.
  4. Install the new transmission cooling line: Insert the new transmission cooling line into the fitting on the transmission. Make sure the rubber seal is securely seated.
  5. Tighten the fitting: Use a wrench to tighten the fitting on the transmission. Be careful not to overtighten, as this could damage the fitting or the new line.
  6. Lower the vehicle: Use the jack to lower the vehicle back down to the ground.
  7. Check for leaks: Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for leaks around the fitting on the transmission and around the rubber seal on the new line.
If you need additional assistance or want to see a video tutorial, I would recommend searching for videos on YouTube that specifically cover the installation of transmission cooling lines on a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT.

I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am 2.4 l in a experiences very hard shifting I've done and filter change and new transmission fluid I also replaced the TPS sensor still shifts hard any suggestions

Not knowing if it shifts hard into every gear and at what load or the RPM it is shifting at, makes it hard to give you any great advise. However is it possible that the trans is shifting normal and the there are engine/transmission mounts that are bad letting the engine/transmission rock out of control when shifting? There is always the possibility that there is some internal problem within the transmission, again hard to tell without test drive.
Hope this helps.

How much to change a oil pan gasket for 2001 grand prix 3.8 gt

If you want to repair the oil pan I would also check lower engine mount for leaking oil and cracks in anti sway bar near fitting's. This due to engine mount is oil filled. OEM sway bar is made of tubular steel and they crack easy. Replacement sway bar is solid steel. Here's the kicker. When they pull the lower frame to service oil pan. The engine mount and sway bar are attached to that frame. A honest mechanic should only charge for parts ($35 for mount and $100 for sway bar) and maybe a extra hour. My mechanic did all in 5 hours. FYI gasket is only $35 bucks. Good luck

The 3.1 is 7.4 qts.

The engine is the same and should bolt right up to the transmission, the only thing is pay attention to the accessory mounts such as the location of the A/C and Alternator and power steering pump ect:
GM is know to make little changes to the accessory location between there brands. Good luck and hope this helps, keep me posted. Be glad to help if you have more questions.
