How can I open the hood on my 2003 Chrysler voyager when the release isn't working

If the release isn't broken, it just won't pop. Have some one push down on the hood, then release. Then adjust the latch upwards. If it is broken. You'll have to under the front with a screw driver and try to release it that way. not fun.

Hood release cable is disconnected

If the cable is broken as I suspect you are implying then use a pair of vise grip pliers and pull on the inner core of the cable to release the hood by cutting cake the outer sheath.

Broken hood release lever under steering weel. Need to open hood to jump start vehicle, to get it to service bay. How can you open hood without hood release lever?

try to see if you can remove the grill, often times the grill is held in by screws accessed from the front of the car-if that does not work, you will probably have to get under the nose of the van and reach up to grasp the cable end (use vise grips) and pop the hood. Try the grill first though, use a flash light to carefully see if it can be done that way.

93 plymouth voyager - radiator hose leaking, chirping sound from engine and hood release broken so hood won't stay closed. Is this something a 50 year old woman can fix by herself?

you can try an tighten clamp that holds hose onto rad, or if its hose, take it off an go to parts store an get same thing an put on same way took off......chirping could just be belt or pulley, ( cant really say what to do about that)....hood release can get from parts store also, should only be 2 bolts hold it down an you'll see how cable is in there...An yes you can do it, as long as you dont mind getting dirty...

MY INSIDE HOOD RELEASE HAS BROKEN. IS THERE ANY

depending on where the cable is broken your can still release and open the hood. if it is broken inside the van in the footwell is the easiest...locate the end of the cable and with a set of visegrips pull the cable to release the hood.

How to open hood.

You have to find the broken cable from underneath the vehicle and pull it with a pair of vice grips until it releases. You cannot relatch the hood until a new cable is installed, so have it towed to a shop instead of trying to drive it with the hood "tied".

1999 Plymouth grand voyager engine hood will not open after operating the release lever inside car. Eventually it loosens and open days after operating the lever. Any thoughts on how to repair? Thanks Ed

I had this problem on mine i loosend up the cable end by the hood latch and checked to make sure nothing was bent, you can also buy a new cable for it as it may be broken somewhere in the way for around $25. but check the end at the hood latch usually gets gummed up with grease and dirt

1997 Plymouth Voyager broken hood latch cable

first, try smacking the hood at one of the front corners while someone else pulls the release handle. or even after you've pulled on it. if that works, once open, adjust and lubricate the hood latch assembly. if it still won't open, and it's the cable and not the latch you'll have to replace it anyway, so instead of removing the grill, cut the cable behind the pull lever under the dash where you can reach it. then skin the outer cable insulation away from the actual steel cable exposing an inch or two of it. then holding the insulation and plastic housing with pliers, grab the steel cable itself with pliers and pull it to open the hood. then replace the cable. the further you can reach up under the panel the better your chances of getting past the broken part of the cable and avoid removing the grill. you might also be able to gain access from up under the car if you're lucky.
