Radio light Radio does not power up.

Rewire radio connections,removing dash light power wire at radio and connecting the same radio dash light power wire to switched power wire at radio from vehicle switched power.

Use a VOM meter to check when the power is active on each of the four lines. My suspicion is that one is for power, one is for lights bright on the radio one is for lights low on the radio and one is probably the anti theft connection.

Most radios always have power maintained to keep their channel memory. You would have to remove radio and put switch in to disconnect both (main and memory) power

yes, main 12vdc power runs the whole radio. and memory power
and if it has an outside amp ,it too has power, 12vdc supply power.
and fuses. all power feeds in car are fused, (cept starter)
so fuses are first.
id the dial glowing or not (data, not just back light)
one other power feed to radio is parking lights back ground lights.
called illumination.

Did you have the battery disconned?

what lights, the dial back lights, is it stock>?
the radios have 3 power sources
1 for radio and amp.
2: dial lamps (dim,) if the other cars dim-able park lamps work then
the radio lamps are bad, or not connected (1 wire)
3: memory. power.

my guess is the rad back lamps are dead.
so turn on the parking lights (Head ligths 1st click)
does dashlight up.? no, turn the dimmmer up.
do they light now? yes, and radio no?
if no radio lamp now, the lamp is bad or wired wrong or the fuse blew
that the dial feed wires to.
if not stock, any thing is possible, (infinity)

The least costly problem would be the radio fuse located in your Tracker fuse box/block. You can see a visual of the fuse box location in your owners manual. Next would be someone has switched out the radio at some time and did not reconnect the power line. As the radio does not light up at all, this is a power radio problem...if your radio light up but does not play, it could be your antennae is not plugged in to the back of your radio. If you have to remove the radio, there are many good radio shops that should test your radio for power, for free...Best Buy is usually helpful. Hope this helps.

This sounds like something was wired wrong, hope there is no computer damage, the first step is to locate the fuse boxes and check all fuses first then remove the radio and check wiring.

I see this all the time. the power for night dash lights that was used to light the lights inside old radio is used on new radio and is sending power through radio and out ground wires to modules and computers, the new radio does not use the light wire, so double check all wiring even remove connector from radio if it keeps blowing a fuse. start there good day

because the light on the radio come on with dash lights doesn't mean the radio is working,check fuse for radio,if its good,check for power at radio connection,if you have power there see if you can see a change in stations when you turn knob,if you do make sure all connectors are plugged in radio,now go to an easy access speaker and plug in a known good speaker

The car dash probably lights the radio dial so that it will dim down with the dash light dimmer. The radio light may still be switched on and off by the radio switch but its a separate circuit. Check the fuse for the circuit that powers the radio itself. It should have its own fuse. Its likely that the radio has failed and will have to be removed and checked on a bench but check the fuse and check the power and antenna connectors in the back of the radio as these sometimes come loose from vibration. Always replace a fuse with one of the exact same amperage, voltage rating, and time delay if any as the original. If a fuse is blown the cause may be internal to the radio or it may be a problem with the car wiring to the radio. If blown check the wiring leading to the radio for worn insulation near sharp edges in the dash.
