2005 nissan sentra battery went dead. got jumped w/ immediate start. I drove it around for about 15 minutes and parked it my car in the garaqe. I tried to start it again but it had very little power and no turnover. do I need to let it run for a specific amount of time to get a full charge or could there be a underlying problem? I I had to get it jumped(left headlites on when pumping gas) a week and a half ago and I drove for about five minutes, parked it, and it it started up fine the next day.

Check to make sure the alternator is charging the battery.crank engine while idling the alternator out put should be 13.5 volts to 14.5 volts. if not alternator is not charging the battery.if alternator is charging battery.the battery is weak.if its over 5 years old its more likely battery.if battery not old checks out good .replace battery cables..

YOUR BATTERY MUST OF BEEN REALLY DRAINED. AFTER YOU JUMPSTARTED IT, YOU MAY HAVE TO HAVE SLOW CHARGE IT TO GET BACK TO PROPER VOLTAGE. BUT AFTER A WHILE YOUR ALTERNATOR DID THE JOB TO BRING BACK TO THE RIGHT VOLTAGE TO GET IT TO START CRANKING THE CAR PROPERLY.

Battery dead. recharged, car started. drove 20 miles. parked 8 hrs. drove back home. after parking 15 minutes car wont start. Which is problem, alternator or battery?

Don't know.
You would need to have both components tested. It could be a dead cell in the battery. Or a bad connection. If the alternator were at fault it should discharge when the engine is running and slowly go dead.

I just bought a 2001 bmw 325ci the car had a rough idle when i drove it home and the check engine light came on. after about 10 min i took the car out the light went off i went to the gas station and...

Welcome to the world of BMW's. return the car to the seller. you got a bad one. You got an electrical short draining the battery. Bring a blank check and sign it over to the dealer. They're going to have to run through the entire electrical system to find the short. That work alone is worth more than the a used up 2001 325i.

Dead battery or something more?

It could be the battery but I will advice you to check the Alternator/ Charging system too.

Good luck.

Car starts with jump and drives but wont start by itself

well if the altenator is charging it will run after getting a jump, you replied you put a battery charger on it but that dont mean the cold cranking amps are good or it could have a dead cell. I would have the battery tested for sure. If you didnt drive far after jump the altenator may be bad but having the battery charged and still does it tells me it is least likely. If the battery tests good the cables could be corroded under the sheath where you cant see. There are other reasons but from what you have posted sounds like you need a battery most auto stores test them for free (load test also)

94 nissan sentra brake light/ battery light

Your alternator is dead/dying. Nissan puts both of those lights on to tell you that the alternator isn't charging your battery.
