Heat and AC blow through the defrost. Checked the blend door actuator and it is working fine. However, the linkage going toward the front of the truck is just hanging. There is nothing in the hole where the linkage goes. I am guessing that the actual tab on the door itself is broken. I am looking for a diagram to order the part and figure out what needs to come apart. In the interim, is there a way to move the door manually for the time being? Thanks for your help

No, you just need to fill freon gas.

ok first put you front seat down and back raise steering wheel . now lay on you back with you head in the drivers floor board. look up see 2 screws remove them and the panel they hold on . look to left main wire harness needs to be moved to the right , up and behind it is th blend actuator 7/32 socket to remove it then manually turn the white peg , total labor 30 min

ase mechanic:
there are separate actuators for the blend doors. one for heat and one for cool. they work opposite and in conjuction with each other, if that makes any sense. ones open, ones close, for each different climate. sounds like the the cold one isn't opening in the rear.

it is located in the air distribution box under the dash. could be one or more but usually one. requires taking entire dash off to replace
Air
Temperature Control Blend Door Failure No Heat
In all modern cars there is a tiny DC electric motor driven gear drive that moves a plastic door that blends heated and cooled air from the AC and the heater core, this is called (interestedly enough) the air temperature control blend door actuator. The motor that moves this door fails because the door starts sticking from warping, most common complaint is no heat but it can be no AC as well. To replace these parts (blend door and blend door actuator) you must remove the entire dash from the car. Always have this problem confirmed by a dealer or qualified repair shop as it is a very expensive repair.
