Which of 3 engines>??????????????????????????
the car is useless with a bad battery, EFI needs a battery that works.
end story.? AMAZING QUESTION THAT. ?
like asking how to drive with a flat tire., ...????
battery fixed, and charge, and alternator good,, 13.3 to 15v running.
reset the CODE, drive and it comes back sure, it will.

Code 25 and Code 26 Air fuel ratio fault (for ES300 SC300 models)

that is the meaning, the cause is huge.
the tests near endless for old cars, with OBD1,
No scan tools. make it harder.
the car has 3 engines. none stated, and each can work different.
so I PASS on lean. checks, no enigne stated.
why are you working on an engine you dont know what it is?

lean can can mean. (basics)
1: its really lean. (lots of causes, ask lots of tests ask)
2: or the 02 sensors are bad. (front sensors)

or there are exhaust cracks allowing fresh air to enter the exhaust any where near the 0xy sensors.
this will cause (shows lean) the PCM to force max rich, because the PCM believes this lie, and goes rich to compensate, and does so grossly.

those are the basics.
I can tell you that the PCM never ever never, knows what part is bad.
it only reports 2 things,
1: bad readings from sensors.
2: or bad monitors, the above means the fuel trim is WAY OFF the charts. A monitor is like a nanny, she, watches all the time and reports things that are odd. (its a passive monitor , only the EFI code is in control , injection and spark)

Smelled gas and check engine light came on. Periodically have smelled gas over the past 6 months or so. What is cause?

Hi Ed.
this is all i could find at the moment.
Gas Cap Causing Gasoline Smell in Car. I know it may seem obvious, but a loose or missing gas cap can cause a fuel smell in your vehicle. You could even have a faulty gas cap that is leaking fumes. A faulty gas cap can also cause the check engine light to illuminate with a DTC on newer cars.

What would cause a gasoline odor when I'm driving? No visible leaks and not overfilling the tank.

Could be anything. Bad gas cap, evaporation canister bad, bad hose, engine running rich etc. No way to give you an accurate diagnosis simply too many possibilities.

Poor starting/smell gasoline

if it smell like gasoline it mean that the fuel isnt getting burned at its 100%. If you havent get a tune up done recentely. Getting one done now wouldn't be a bad idea.
Any check engine light on?...If so you need to pull the codes out and see what codes the ECU has saved.

91 Maxima Gasoline odor when I first start the car

If it is running fine, the busted bolt isn't the source of the gasoline smell. The intake manifold has vacuum, so the smell wouldn't be getting out, air would be going in, and a vacuum leak would give you poor idling. The exhaust manifold wouldn't have much raw gasoline smell. But it would have loud noise if the broken bolt were causing an exhaust leak.

Check that the vapor recovery line is not broken or disconnected. The hose connectors get cracked. If that were broken, it would cause a gasoline smell after the car has been sitting, especially if it has been sitting in the sun, heat driving gasoline vapor out of the tank. It is supposed to condense in the vapor canister, but some escapes if the line is broken. If it is broken, driving would **** out the gasoline from the line and the wind would dissipate the smell.

Or it could be a leaking injector. With the injector cover off, engine idling and cool, you can visually look for raw gas around the injectors and injector rail connections.

Hope this helps.

Strong odor of gasoline vapors

do u have a check engine light on? do u overfill the tank? which is to say when the filler nozzle clicks off do u still try to put more fuel in? in any event u most likely have a overloaded carbon canister, pull the canister out and check it for gasoline saturation, the carbon canister is located under the car in a tray near the fuel tank.
