SOURCE: 2000 BMW 323i Check Engine Light Problem-10 codes!!! Help!

I would first check for a vacuum leak. Common areas of intake leaks are: 1. The crankcase vent valve located under the intake. 2.Check the intake boot at the throttle housing. You will find that there is an elbow where a small hose goes to your idle valve. Using your hand feel in the elbow area for a hole in the rubber. Your tech can use brake cleaner and spray the intake to check for leaks or use a smoke tester. 3.Possible failing Mass Air Meter. At idle, in park, and a/c not on the meter reading should be appr. 18-22 hz

SOURCE: Fuel filter and oil filter location on Bmw 320 td copact

If you removed the camshaft cover, you should probably replace the gasket or at a minimum insure that all bolts are torqued to OEM specification.

Look here for instructions and pictures for the oil change.

http://www.my330i.com/

The fuel filter is located on the bottom of the car, not sure which side, under a shield. Look here for pics and instructions.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: hi; my bmw 320i e90

The smoke is blue, correct?
When you changed the oil separator, did you clean out the hose that goes from the valve cover to the oil separator?
The next suspect for smoking at idle would be the intake valve seals, but that would be the first time that I ever heard of a problem there.

Hello, My 1994 BMW 740i is not shifting into 5th gear on automatic mode, it happens after it being driven for while and is warm, when cold it shifts gear till 5th gear normally, when it gets stuck on 4th...

IMO it's more likely that you have the wrong grade of ATF. It's very important to have the correct grade. The following site shows this:
http://www.nairaland.com/1364064/automatic-gearbox-problems
each car manufacturer has recommended grades of Automatic Transmission Fluid, BMW is no exception. the following website for BMWs may bring you more accurate data:
http://www.nairaland.com/1364064/automatic-gearbox-problems
Apparently CTSC is the supplier for BMWs via the web.
Generally auto gearboxes have drain plugs and filler plugs to enable oil change in routine maintenance. But I would definately go back to the garage where you had the last service and ask politely about the grade of ATF used, before considering an 'oil change'.
Good Luck

Transmission only goes to 3 , won`t kick over to 4th and 5th gear. I heard i`ts oil filter blockage. is this true?

You can guess all you want but if you have a oil problem then damage is being done to the engine. Unless you can afford to replace the engine I would get it in ASAP so a professional can look at it. You could replace the filter yourself to verify your question. You dont need to change the oil now to verify this. Bwm's oil filters do tend to fall apart within 6000 miles and the service interval is 12,000 to 15,000 depending on the year

Auto will not kick or drop down to 1st during city traffic

It seems to me by the way you describe it to me that your modulator valve is faulty or needs adjustment. If you have a manual for this transmission I ques it is a little ZF,
Look up and try and find the modulator valve and try to adjust it if you want to do it your self and see adjustment in your manual.
