SOURCE: Goodmorning! I had purchased a 2000 mercury

spray a small amount of W/D 4o into the key lock and then put the key in and move it back and forward until the lock free up and also spray a small amount in the inside lock of the door as well and then do the same on the other side the reason you had this problem is because the last owner only used the remotes to lock and unlock the doors and not the key sometimes.

SOURCE: can i find my original key less door entry code using my VIN numb

for safety reasons, only a dealer can get your key code from Ford and make you a key. You will need proof of ownership and your VIN number and ID. 1-800-241-3673.
You can try calling Ford Roadside Assistance. They may be abe to help.

Sometimes, you can take a long, thin screwdriver and lift up the door handle. Slide the screwdriver in the slot under the handle. Move around till you see the lock button move and try to pry it up. Also, local police might help with a slim jim.

SOURCE: Mercury mountaineer check engine light help

My 2002 M Mountaineer had the same problem and was fixed by reading the code that showed a leak in the gas tank pressure via the cap. When I replaced this with a good after market cap and drove the car for a while and it cleared itself. A mechanic told me that's not possible, but it did clear and has not lit up except on start up where it lights for a few seconds to test the bulb - a normal function.

SOURCE: 1997 mercury mountaineer outside door

The first thing you need to have is the vehicles MASTER keypad combination. Once you have this number it is simple to ADD an additional combination of your choise.

The MASTER combination always remains the same; you can only add an additional combination. How do you get the master combination? Good question. My old 87 t-bird had a sticker with the combination stuck on the inside of the trunk lid.

also my 1995 lincoln town car had it sticked in the door panel, just take it off and you should see a black box with a sticker on it, the 5 digit number printed there is gonna be the master code. Hope it's helpful for everyone with this problem.

Purchased 2006 mercury mountaineer i do not have factory keypad code

You should be able to drive the truck to the dealer and have them give you the code, provided it was not changed by the previous owner.
Usually the code is in the owner's manual.

I cant get the keyless entry code to my 2003 mercury mountaineer. i bought the truck used so i never had the code but i locked my keys in the truck and i need the key code. is there a default code?

You will have to go to the dealer with tittle, and proof
of ownership and VIN# to get the factory code.

You should have 2 keys and a valet key, then program them,
then change the Keyless Door Code

Starting

To find out if the key is bad go to local lock smith and ask for a code key from the vin number they will tell you you need a chip that is correct but the key will open the door and turn on the ignition. if the new key works then your key is bad and the dealer can make you one for about 100.00 dollars if it still dont turn then the key cylinder is bad and it will need to be replaced good luck
