I have had to put 2 ignition cylinder locks in my 2002 Saturn Vue in the last 2 years. The local garage that I use replaced it last week and the key still doesn't want to turn even with the new key they gave me. I called the Saturn dealer and they said there weren't any recalls or anything pertaining to this. I am thinking there is more wrong making the key not turn. Can you please help?
The keys on this vehicle have a problem with wearing down to the point where it's a pain to get them to work in the ignition cylinder. Examine your keys for wear and that may have been your problem since day one.
I have a 2004 Vue and I have the only key I got with it (used car) worn down to the point where it will no longer work in the back door and is a pain to use in the ignition cylinder. It also falls right out of the ignition cylinder when the car is running. I have a copy of the key that was made when I got the car which works just fine and doesn't fall out, and looking at the two side by side, you can see that Saturn's key has worn down substantially since I got it two years ago.
