Since the spare is mounted under the rear of the car, Its not easy...you have to assemble the long crank rod out of its two pieces, then feed the rod through the hole in the top of the rear bumper and lock it into the mechanism that holds the tire in place. Once the crank rod is locked in, lower the tire towards the ground. Once the tire is low enough, you can crawl under the car and release the tire from its mount. The hardest part is locking the crank rod into the spare tire mechanism through the hole in the bumper.
I am sure with the 2004 Envoy the spare tire is located under the back of the truck. To remove it you get the jack handle (see owners manual for location, sometimes under hood or under rear seat or the left side of the rear hatch ) and to the right side of the rear license plate should be a hole in the bumper. You stick the jack handle in there and crank counter clockwise. This lets the tire down. The tire must lay flat on the ground and slack in the lowering cable. There is a flat steel piece on the end of the cable that fits through the center of the spare rim.. just tip it and pull it through then slide the tire out from under the truck. If you are unsure about changing the tire please read your owners manual. It will walk you through the entire procedure.

the instructions and tools should be under the second row seats.

The battery is on the right side behind the fuse box. You need a metric set to undo the 3 screws. Theres one that attaches to the body, one to the bar that goes along the top, and theres one on the left side below the vacuum hose and air induction. After you've taken out those three, you should lift the whole thing out(battery and shroud) together. It's hard to take the shroud off before you lift the battery out. After that, you have to pry the shoud off the battery. The two terminals in the back make it hard. Then just go to any auto parts store and they'll give you a new one.

The tools are under the second row seats. The hole for the spare tire lowering mech. is above the rear bumper when you lift the tail gate. Put the proper tool down the hole, turn counter clockwise, lowers spare. Reverse to bring up.

This an engine coolant temperature fault, most likely caused by a defective thermostat, probably one that is open all the time.
