No , Why ? The lift gate door ajar light is controlled by the lift gate module or BCM . These modules have their own power supply . Now what problem are you having ? no ajar light showing on the instrument cluster when lift gate is open ?

Replace the gate latch. Open the gate, remove the top panel first, it pops off. Remove the bottom, 2 to 4 screws to remove, then it pops off. This gives you access to remove the latch.
Did you remove the safety clip that stops it from collapsing during installation? Some of these need to be installed compressed and if they extend too far out they will lock up. I would remove the support, compress it at least halfway and then put it back in place with the hatch halfway closed if possible. Then lift the gate and see if that helps in the operation. This assumes you are talking about the spring tension Hydraulic lift bar on the hatch and that you can reach the connecting points with the hatch partially closed.
You should be able to remove the trimpanel on the lift-gate. then at the location of the striker in the middle-bottom of lift-gate you should be able to access a rod. Grab the rod with pliers, if pliers won,t fit the rod connects to a metal lever attached to the striker assembly, pry the lever away from the striker and this should release you gate....Good Luck!!!
