How to remove an old headlamp on a 2003 rav4?

The lamp, or the entire housing?

The lamp is tight, but not hard. It is under the rubber cap on the back of the housing. It's tight with other items, but it can be done without removing anything. Unplug the lamp, remove the rubber cap, release the wire bail, and remove the lamp.

The housing is a major pain. You need to remove the grille and the trim strip that runs under the headlights and grille. It is retained by a couple of hidden plastic clips at each end, you need a pair of small screwdrivers to depress the locking pins to release them. Wrap the screwdrivers so you don't mar the paint.

Once that is out of the way, work around the housing and remove any bolts attaching it, then work the housing out of the fender.

2003 Toyota Rav4 has P0303, P0300, P0301 and P0174 check engine codes. I replaced spark plugs. Still running rough

Sounds like you may have a weak fuel pump.Check your fuel pressure and if its not within the specs that are required then replace the fuel pump and filter.

My friends 2009 Rav4 low beams are so dim, I didn't think that she had her lights on, but she did. What could be the problem?

You could have bulbs that are starting to go bad or a bad ground. The bad ground is the most likely cause since it happened to both at the same time, but it should effect the high beams also. So the first thing to check would be check the grounds at both headlamps and check the voltage supply at both headlamps. It is possible that you have low voltage and that would have to be checked at the switch and the dimmer if that is the case.

Parking light burnt out

You should be able to get to it by removing the headlight

  1. Remove the headlamp fasteners.
  2. Using a pry bar, gently pry in the center area of the headlamp assembly. Pry the headlamp assembly straight forward in order to unsnap the headlamp ball stud from the ball stud socket.
  3. Slide the headlamp straight forward and disconnect the headlamp electrical connectors from the forward lamp wiring harness.
  4. Remove the headlamp from the vehicle.
