SOURCE: 1999 Subaru Legacy Sedan.. speedometer works

I finally fixed mine, on my 1999 Subaru legacy 30th anniv edition. . .

I removed the speedometer head, and resoldered the green connector on the board. Then I also ran a wire to duplicate the trace wire from the middle pin to the first connect (about 4mm). Problem gone.

SOURCE: replacing a fuel pump on a subaru legacy.

These are nice as there is a removable cover/ port in the rear trunk on these models. This eliminates the need to drop the tank. This access plate gives you direct access to the pump/sender unit in the fuel tanks top side.

SOURCE: 1995 subaru legacy l the dashboard lights are not working

  • Check fuse #9 at in car fuse panel
  • Check Illumination CTRL Module for melt-down
  • Check that Tail and Illumination relay is fully seated, top center of in-car fuse panel.
The relay is most likely the cause.

SOURCE: Fuel gauge/temp gauge not working

There are two sensors, one for ECU temp. readings with two pin connector and other one with only one wire, which has been probably disconnected when you replaced the CPC solenoid - very close position.

SOURCE: 1996 subaru legacy fuel pump

It's way up under the dash on the drivers side. It's green in color. It will be to the left of the ignition relay which is brown in color.

1990 subaru legacy wagon fuel injectors are not getting fuel to start it

Check the pressure to the fuel rail then check it at the line before the fuel pressure regulator, it should be between 55 and 80 psi at the rail and 100 psi before the regulator, if you don't have pressure before the regulator then you have a fuel pump issue, if the rail pressure is low then you may need to replace the regulator.

Subaru legacy b4 fuel gauge read empty when full?gauges jump about too

You have a fuel level sending unit that is not working properly. It is located inside the fuel tank.

Also, when you ask for help with your vehicle it would be very helpful if you could mention WHICH "Legacy" we are talking about. It seems that Subaru got "stuck" on the Legacy name - there are actally 9 choices for "Legacy" just for your model year. (see list below) There are also 2 different engines available for that year a 2.2L and a 2.5L.

Both head gaskets have to be replaced and the heads need to be resurfaced, be sure you go thru the torque specs and sequence correctly, it is a strange process, but has to be done. subaru puts out a product called cooling system conditioner, it's advised to install this.
