SOURCE: oil change light
Turn the key on. Observe the odometer. Is "ODO" displayed? If not, push the trip meter button until "ODO" is displayed, with the total mileage travelled shown.
Turn the key off.
Push & HOLD the trip reset button until advised to release it.
Turn the key to "ON" (do not start engine)
Observe the ODO display.
You should see 5 dashes, then 4, then 3, then 2, then one, and finally, five zeros.
The original mileage that you observed should be redisplayed.
Release the trip reset button.
The proceedure is now complete.
SOURCE: where is the oil filter on the 2009 Toyota corolla
I assume that you have a 1.8 engine. The oil filter is in a round metal housing under the engine; you have to remove the housing to access the cartridge type oil filter; the 1.8s do not have a "spin-on" filter.
SOURCE: fuel filter location
The oil filter is in an aluminum cylinder on the engine. It is not a "spin on" filter, it is now a cartridge-type filter. When you get one, make sure that you use the new o-rings provided in the filter box. The fuel filter is in the tank. Hope this helps, the graciousness of a FixYa rating would be appreciated. Thanks.

the box has to come out im afraid, but do not replace the gear, just the baulk ring,as a matter of interest we used to take out the whole engine/ transmision as a unit (easier to work with on a stand.)
