drain and refill will take you about 4 quarts. a liter is 0.89 of a quart .... in other words a quart is almost 1/10th short ( a little less) of a liter. oil you could use any oil that compatible with the rating of the transmission.

Special tool from BMW works through the transmission oil pan, you can't buy the tool so BMW dealer is the only place to go.

BMW transmission oil shouldn't be changed according the label on the side of the trans housing. The is also no trans oil dip stick and tube under the hood like on older cars. Workshops pump new oil in with a trans oil exchange machine.

need a oil light reset tool or maybe you can find the reset procedure at BMW forum.

Oil service:
Replace oil + filter

Inspection 1 service
Oil and oil filter
A/C microfilter

Inspection 2
Air filter
Oil and oil filter
Spark plugs
ATF(transmission fluid)
Diff oil
Fuel filter
A/C micro filter

All of the above are to be done with inspection on the braking system, suspension linkages, wheel bearings, lights etc.
Coolant is to be replaced every 3 years, clutch and brake fluid every 2 years.

I'm assuming you have an auto transmission, if you do, then if you are lucky changing your transmission oil might do the trick.

If you want to try this, then you simply need to change your transmission oil drive the car for a few hundred miles and change the oil again, this has in some cases solved the problem but its not guranteed.

Change automatic transmission fluid and filter first, sometimes can solve this problem.

or chage c-90 oil for your gear box and at the same time, change the clutch plate.
