This has something to do with the emissions control gear which is placed under the seat on the driver side, and has a tube that goes back to the gas input. I have had this removed, and now I can add gas. But when it is time for emissions inspection, the car will fail. The part has been placed on a nationwide search engine! No results!
SOURCE: Transmission fluid change interval for Mercedes C230 Kompressor
hi, mercedes are good for 200,000 before you change transmission oil, hope this helps my E300 has done 350,000 and still changes fine as the oil is not a lubricant as such it lasts longer and does not lose it's viscosity, hope this helps you, thanks for useing fixya
SOURCE: Mercedes-Benz Transmission Fluid question
the transmission on your MB is sealed with no way to check the trans fluid level,(no dipstick provided for) that is why the report says "sealed". MB did this to stop customers from overfilling there transmissions, which can cause severe damage if not done properly at the correct fluid temp, this requires special test scan tools.
SOURCE: can't open a 2002 Mercedes c230 kompressor sun roof
It's typically the motors or the special drive tubes that it uses. If you here a clicking noise then the sunroof became to tight and ruined the motor gears. You can actually switch the two motors, one is for the shades and needs less power then the other motor. They are identical, switch them. Nex make sure they are very tight to the 3 mounting bolts, there is a rubber washer bushing that wears out and alloys the motor to flex too much, causing the gear mis-alignment and gear grinding. This works great I do it all the time.

Hello drtonyg... This is an electronic shifter controler on the C230...Almost every time they fail the shifter assy. needs replaced as a whole unit....There have been some techs that have tried to clean and repair the shifter assembly and reuse it but most attempts fail..You can disconnect the shift linkage from the shifter assembly underneath the vehicle and then see if your shifter moves all the way(this would eliminate any shifter assembly failures)
Good luck, i hope this helps...please rate me a fixya.
SOURCE: I have an engine fault code of p0170 on a mercedes
hi this is showing fuel trim bank 1 malfunction, this could be caused by the following things, intake leak, AIR system, fuel pressure/pump, injector/s EVAP canister purge valve, or HO2S ( air fuel mix incorrect) if it starts and runs fine, i do not think it will be fuel pump, or the injectors as this would make it run rough or even not start at all, if it was an intake leak, you would be suffering from high rev's when you start the car and would take a long time for the rev's to come down, so really, that just leaves the HO2S (sensor/s) these are located one on the exhaust manifold ( from engine follow exhaust manifold you will come to a things sticking out with some wires on) this is HO2S sensor bank 1, or if you look under the car on the exhaust, just past the catalytic converter you will see the same thing, this is HO2S sensor bank 2, it may be either of these, but i possibly would go for the first one, EVAP..it could be, if you have an air leak on it, the EVAP can be found under the hood/bonnet, at the front on the right hand side as you look into the engine/motor bay just in front of the screen was bottle...hope this helps
