1985 corvette i have a 1985 corvette 5.7 that idels rough. i unplug the idel sensor and idels great. replaced idel sensor and it runs rough again. no codes. checked 4 vac leakes.....please help

Have you replaced the fuel filter? That may be the culprit.

Check egr valve, gasket, vacuum line. vacuum leak or sounds like to me.

Vacume leak or bad idle motor. With the car in park and running with the hood open listen for leaks moving your hand around the different hoses looking for a change in the sounds that you hear. The idel motor also makes the car idel up to 1500 RPM or so right at start-up then idel down, If it doesn;t the idel motor is likly. Check engine light is on when running? Test for codes, Follow code test charts don't skip any steps!.

i have a 1986 chevy corvette, when you fist start the motor it idel fine, when it wormes up, it ideling rough and RPM jumps up and down, and you can smell gas when you fist statrt it but there is no leaks,also when your driving about 45mph it puags down until you push it and then runs fine. please help me with this issue.

there is a sensor on the throttle body it' controls the idel of the vehicle it's called a tps and has a electrical lead to it this should be replaced it will be positioned right behind the butterflyplate of the throttle body

As a former Audi technician, I can pretty much guarantee the coil packs are your problem.

bad injector?
easy to test with vom, just check from terminal on injector to ground if one reads different thats the problem, you do need to disconnect wire to check, my help is free and will be glad to help further just vote fixa..LOL my rating is all I care about. Hope yu can help me too.

I had the same problem, it ended up being a fuel level sensor, if you run the car at low fuel level numerous times it goes bad. I had it replaced and runs great.

With a pocket scanner you can check for fault codes to find out why the light came on in the first place. You can clear your cars trouble codes after you replace the malfunctioning sensors.
