I would check the thermostat and make sure your fluids are up in the rad.as well see if the fan runs when it's hot. If the fan runs then it's doing it's job. Is the rad clean or plugged as that will make it over heat as well.

Sounds like it could be the fuel pump or injectors.

SOURCE: The windows in the 95 oldsmobile cutlass ciera won't work at all

maybe the wire is severed where the door (drver dr) pivots. thats what was wrong with mine. there is a rubber boot with crinkles in it that hold all the wires together. you can also try replacing the switch board that controls the wndws on the drvr dr. hope that helps.

Motor overheats

I don't know your car type, but in general, maybe

- thermostat has failed, stuck closed

- radiator hose has gone soft and collapsed

- coolant temp sensor has failed

- drive to radiator fan has failed (this can be hydraulic, electric or a belt)

- failed head gasket allowing combustion gases into the water jacket

My 1991 olds cutlass ciera has been running hot. Had the thermostat replaced, the fan runs fine but I still have a problem of the car running hot while the air conditioner is running. Please help!

It sounds like one or both of two problems. The radiator cores may be clogged and not letting enough coolant through, or the radiator and condenser fins may be clogged and not letting enough air through. The only other thing I've seen with the same symptoms is an A/C unit running too much pressure on the high side which overheats the condenser and in turn the radiator.

My coolant lookes like mud and it tends to overheat once and a while what is the problem??

when was the last time you did any coolant system maintenance? Do you know the maintenance history?

It sounds like it might be time. At the very least do a complete flush and fill of the coolant system. Like others have mentioned the fan clutch might be an issue as could be the thermostat, or radiator.

Can i ues a ac recharge kit and do it my self on a 1988 oldsmobile cutlass ciera with out going go jail

Yeah you can use it. You don't have to have a license to have and use 134A. Your 88 ciera had R12 in it originally but just use 134A.
