OK so my car starts by pushing and popping clutch..does not start by jumper cables..when you turn ignition, everything comes on but the ignition has no pressure while turning key..no resistance.

the ignition is functional in that it is completing the ignition circuit or else it would not start from pushing
could be a problem battery ( have a load test done ) bad ground points , faulty starter relay
if the ignition switch is not operating right when it is turned to the start position it could be not making all the circuits needed to crank the engine and supply power to the ignition

97 cavalier cranks will not start theft light stays on

Is the security light flashing? If so, turn ignition on and wait for 10 minutes and light should stay on solid. Then try and start the car without turning the ignition back off. Then turn off ignition and wait 1 minute. Then turn ignition on and see if security light is flashing. If not try and start your car. If it is flashing, try waiting again with just the ignition on and see if it goes out.

Resetting the passlock

1. First, insert the ignition key and turn the ignition switch to the "On" position (Do not start the engine). Leave the switch on for 11 minutes. The security light may flash or be on steady during this 11 minute period. Make sure the light is no longer on or flashing before proceeding to #2 .
2. Turn the ignition switch off for 30 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the "On" position (as in step #1) for 11 minutes again.
4. Turn the ignition switch off for another 30 seconds.
5. Turn the ignition switch to the "On" position for 11 minutes a third time.
6. Turn the ignition switch off for 30 seconds one final time.
7. Turn the ignition switch to the "On" position one final time and wait 30 seconds.
8. Attempt to start the engine. If the engine starts and runs normally, the relearn is complete. If the engine does not start, Go to this link for info

When i turn the key to start the truck upit turns to run but wont go to start, it turns all the way but doesnt start

Not much to go on---but I'll try here.

Ok first thing check to see if truck is in park---sometimes it may be in park but the park switch will not start truck unless the switch is depressed.

try putting truck in neutral with foot on pedal to start truck-----if starts the problem is with the switch.

If not, then you have a ignition switch problem---there is an ignition switch box under the dash on topside of steering column with has adjustment screws mounted to column.

loosen screws and slide ignition box toward the steering wheel to achieve the start position of the ignition switch box to start truck.

89 toyota 22re sr5 ext cab 2wd 5sp manul slips out of 1st and 3rd

One quick fix, that may or may not help....Under your shifting boot, turn the collar that holds in your shifter, it should release, and let you take the shifter up. There is a plastic ball on the end, see that it isn't worn, and look at the part that the plastic ball goes into. Too much wear here can cause a problem. These are available!
If not...synchro's are very difficult to replace in a standard transmission.
