How do I unlock 1998 chev cavalier that had the doors locked by mistake

GO TO AUTO STORE GET A SLIM JIM OR EQUAL THEY WILL KNOW ADVANCE ,AUTO ZONE ECT .ONE WAY MOST ROAD SERVICE GROUPS HAVE A TOOL THAT RESEMBLES A BLOOD PRESSURE CUFF THEY WEDGE IN THE DOOR AND PUMP TO CREATE GAP ,THEN THEY TAKE A STIFF WIRE AND UNLOCK IT , YOU CAN DO SAME WITH SMALL WOODEN WEDGE BUT SOMETIMES WILL NICK PAINT THEN TAKE WIRE COAT HANGER AND UNLOCK

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery.
2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
3. Remove the electrical connections from the back of the starter.
4. Remove the bell-housing cover.
5. Remove the starter support bracket bolt from the engine block.
6. Unfasten the starter motor-to-engine bolts, then carefully lower the starter.
7. Remove the nuts/bolts that hold the starter support bracket to the starter.

1. Transfer the starter support bracket to the new starter if the starter is being replaced.
2. Raise the starter into position and secure the starter using the starter motor-to-engine bolts. Tighten the bolts to 32 ft. lbs. (43 Nm).
3. Install the starter support bracket-to-engine bolt to 24 ft. lbs. (32 Nm).
4. Install the bell-housing cover.
5. Install the starter electrical connections on the back of the starter. Tighten the S terminal to 22 inch lbs. (2.5 Nm) and the battery terminal to 106 inch lbs. (12 Nm).
6. Carefully lower the vehicle, then connect the negative battery cable.

if you run the engine u will see one of the small pulleys jitter and move up and down a little, that is the automatic belt tensioner.

Try going onto Craigslist and finding a parts truck. You will want to replace the switch itself.

you may just have a bad connection under the lock button under switch panel on your drivers door. check electrical plug in at door lock switch by removing that panel from driver door.it may be that you have to replace that door lock switch .thers only one fuse for door locks and if pass side works, it's not blown.
