SOURCE: Hot and Cold

The most likely cause of your problem is the blend doors under your dash. If they are not moving like they should it can cause this type of problem. You can look under the dash to see if there are any linkages that are disconnected. Some of these are very hard to change so you might want to take it to a repair shop unless you are very good with cars.

SOURCE: 99 STS AC is blowing hot air

I had the same problem but it was blowing hot air on the passenger side of the car. I assume you have the dual zone controls that I have as well. The problem is most likely the damper that controls the flow of hot and cold air into the car. The motorized component of the damper is most likely not working and its stuck in the hot air position.

I had mine replaced by a repair shop so I cant tell you how to replace it but it may be something that you can do if you have the time and patience to work on it.

Good luck

SOURCE: driver's side defroster and heater vents blow cold

The doors that open and close in the heater control unit are ran by motors. It sounds like a motor has quit in yours. When turning on the defrosters the motor closes the door to the heat for the floor

Driver side blows cold air. Can't get heater to work. Passenger side OK. What's wrong?

Heater or mode door actuator bad , possibly ! You can look on youtube for videos showing how to change . It can be easy or very hard to replace . You could have it checked for DTC's diagnostic trouble codes stored in the heater control head . dealer only !

A/C system; Drivers side blows hot air (only) - Passenger side blows cold.

If you disconnect the battery, in most cars this will reset all systems. However from your description I would expect that the problem is a faulty actuator

Passenger side of 2000 eldorado blows cold air and driver side blows hot, told this is due to blend air door motor is out of synch

That is a correct diagnosis, getting into the HVAC blower box is an in depth process that can often go awry if not taken care of by some one that is thoroughly mechanical. Is this something that you are preparing ot do yourself?

My 98 Cadillac Eldorado ETC Blows Hot Air on the Drivers Side and Cold Air on the Passenger Side when the Heat is on and vise versa when the AC is on. In the past I would disconnect the battery for 15...

When you start the car, the HVAC air control doors are automatically moved to a default position, and then as the engine heats up, the doors are moved to the requested position. Probably a problem with the passenger side electrical air mix door actuator, but could also be the passenger side temperature control. Try changing the setting to see if that has any effect.
You will need the service manual to locate the actuators, to check them and replace if necessary.

I have a 1999 Cadillac Eldorado ETC. When I turn the heater on and bring it out the bi-level vents....The driver side blows heat and the passenger side blows ice cold....even with the air cond. turned...

the temperature door inside (there is two one for each side of car) is possibly broken if you turn the blower on low turn the temp on the passenger side from full hot to full cold or vise versa and listen closely for a clicking or snapping sound if this is heard you have a broken door in side then the dash has to come out the air conditioning has to be discharged of refrigerant which has to be done by a facility with a license. if no noise is heard it could be a control head or a motor but the most likely cause is a broken door.

2000 lincoln ls ac is blowing hot air on pass side

On the central console is the A/C module. Inside A/C module are driver's side & passenger's side air flaps for mixing hot & cold air and directed air flows towards driver's side & passenger's side according to driver commands. The passenger's side flap for mixing hot & cold air according to driver commands is bad. Flaps are actuated by electrical step by step motors. Could be damaged the flap actuator (motor), the flap mechanism (blocked in "HOT" air position), and / or electrical supply wires. You must access the passenger's side flap for mixing hot & cold air, and see what happens when you command cold air to the driver's side: flap mechanism, flap actuator, supply wires, ... Repair & replace bad pieces and test the A/C system.

A/C is hot on the drivers side cold on passenger side??

It's either low refrigerant, or the driver's blend door not operating. More than likely it's low on Freon, but that would indicate that there is a leak in the system, and that needs to be found.

2003 accord air conditioner

Hi there. When a compressor is replaced, two things are in fact being replaced - both the compressor and the refrigerant (Freon) and if the problem is resolved as a result which of those two replaced elements caused the original problem? Well you will never know and so before the compressor is replaced you need to have you’re A/C system recharged – it’s by far the most cost effective initial thing to do. In general A/C systems loose at least 10% of their effectiveness each year through loss of refrigerant and so given the age of your car; it’s the first thing to focus on. A professional A/C centre will also be able to tell you whether your compressor is working properly after having a refrigerant recharge by the monitoring the operating pressures in the A/C system.

How can I fix

This is either an out of phase issue or a temperature control blend door or blend door motor actuator problem, it can also be the climate control module in the dash, 1st try disconnecting the battery for 5 min's to re-sync the climate control module, if this fails u will need to find out what blend door is the problem or if they are ok replace the automatic climate control module in the dash
