Replaced wiper motor and washer. Worked well for 4 months. Now works intermittently. Works low speed, high speed, washer, but very intermittent. Shuts down for awhile. Connections good. Voltmeter shows ok with switch on. Contact cleaner on all connections. Wiring looks fine. Switch? Action seems normal on switch. Electrics in motor housing? Am at a loss

Well sure enough all I had to do was replace the circuit board...wish I had done this a couple months ago...it was so easy to do and will now be much easier to drive with being able to see clearly again....

You could have a bad wiper motor circut board problem. You can pick on up at a parts store for less then at the dealer but check to make sure it's the board and not the switch it self.
Good luck and hope this helps.

check out autozone.com. You have to register for a membership (free) but then you will be able to use any of their vehicle repair guides. I had a similar problem with a 1996 Jimmy that ended up being the wiper control module (~$30). The module is housed with the wiper motor, under a plastic cover. The motor should be located, under the hood, on the firewall, very near to one of the wiper arms. Simply, unplug the wiring harness to the motor and remove the 3 or 4 screws that hold the cover on and pull the circuit board straight out and replace it.
