Sounds like a belt has gone.
Have a look at the front of the motor if you can see pulleys with no belt on them that will confirm it... Any auto parts store should be able to supply a replacement given year and model details.

2003 Dodge neon sxt had AC compressor replaced ever since had strange noise now power steering. Went out

Two separate belts. Power steering has it's own belt. Either belt broke or pump went bad. Has nothing to do with the AC system. Just bad luck.

I was driving home last night and I heard this loud metal crash/scapping/thud. Soon after my battery light came on, it felt like my power steering went out, and car would not heat up, and eventually by car...

Sounds like you broke your drive belt. The drive belt controls the alternator, power steering pump, water pump and AC. When it breaks, you lose all. Hope fully you didn't do any damage to the motor by over heating. I'm guessing that by the sound that you have described, the belt tenioner pulley may have broken off. This keeps the belt tight. Good luck with it. Let me know if it was not that, as there may be more avenues to look at.

Hi, I need to change my serpentine belt but my other belts are looking kinda rough, so I think I'm just going to change them all. Looking online I noticed different sizes for the belts for my 1995...

Firts of all don't get a belt on line, go to the auto parts store and get one there, They can match up old belts and also look up the correct belt for your car. You need to know what year and size of the motor and what els you have that is belt driven like Ac and power steering and such. If you take your old belts in they can match them with what is in the book to make sure they are right and you don't have to worry about getting the wrong belt.

I have a 2009 RX8 R3 w/20,000 miles on it. Just started it to go get gas and out of no where the power steering stopped working. Yellow steering wheel light w/! Is on. WTF? I know how to drive without...

One of two things have happened:
  1. Your power steering pump went out and needs to be replaced or,
  2. The drive belt that controls the PS pump broke
The RX8 has only two drive belts so if they are both fine and none are broken then it meant that the PS pump itself has went out and needs to be replaced.

Let me know what you think and dont forget to rate the solution.

Thank you and have a great day!

Can I drive a 2003 saturn L200 without serpentine belt?

As crazy as it sounds, I don't see why not. Based on my limited knowledge of a 2002 L200, the power steering is run off the back of the camshaft and the water pump is driven by the timing belt. The only things the serpentine belt runs are the A/C and alternator. Obviously you won't make it very far running without an alternator, but at worst you kill your battery. Serpentine belt on a 2.2l 4 cylinder 2002 L200 has nothing to do with the water pump or power steering pump.

Loud squealin from power steering belt

Check the tension of the power steering belt.
It is probably loose and slipping - belts can stretch during their initial run in period.
