My AC Stopped working a few days ago and today my car started to everheat. I checked the #1 sure on the engine compartment (AC clutch, aux. water pump) and it was blown. I replaced it and drove for a few blocks with the AC on and it stopped working again, blowing hot air. Can anyone help me as to why the fuse keeps blowing? Thanks
I'm a tad late on answering this ine for you, but for others, please check your fan(s) to make sure they are turning. That is, with the ignition off, reach down and give the blad a spin. If they spin, good if one desn't spin, that's your ticket home. Replace the fan motor first, then replace the fuse. Chances are it is the fan that helps cool the A/C. Then the fan will cool AND you will have AC again.I'm a tad late on answering this ine for you, but for others, please check your fan(s) to make sure they are turning. limited info generic answer seem to have a few things wrong ---driving through [puddle] may have or did damage electrical system like alternator which is not charging battery causing stall no start -but will need to test the battery alternator and electrical system ---also operating without oil water could also have gotten into engine and pretty much damage /destroy it need to inspect and check internals of engine
You'll need someone to check the electrical circuits to make sure the compressor is working and then check the blend door to make sure the heater is not on.
If the compressor stops running it could be the compressor clutch or a relay.
First of all your service light came on so give it a service then have the service light reset then check the thermastac, water levels and the choke is working properly and all the elecric working parts are good
1. check AC fuse look in manual as to whereabouts
2. make sure fuse is opearable
3. turn on unit hi setting does blower work if not check fuse and replace
4. physical look for clutch to operate intermittenly if not replace ( engine compartment)
5. top of unit with R134a referigant
6. check for leaks and by using soapy water on all fittings repair as needed
You shouldn't worry, it seems just a temporary connection error in one of the AC wiring plugs. If it happens again, turn the key switch to the start position, push the brake & pull the gear stick away to the "D" position, take out the small storage compartment above the AC control panel, with your middle & pointer fingers of both hands simultaneously push the AC panel out from above & behind, unplug the 4 plugs, spray the plugs & their sockets with the WD40, leave it work for 30 minutes, airjet spray to dry, replug & reassemble the panel & compartment.
