OBD p1242 ,p0703,p0702 grand cheeroci

ok so 1242 is sensor power supply high input ,0703 is detected de-acceleration with no brake switch activity and 0702 is fault with trans control unit i'd guess your having running/accelerating problems ,have the codes wiped and road test and see if problems continue if they do i'd get the ECU checked out as a first step

2000n vw beetle wont go more than 30 mph

You're in LIMP MODE, the system is preventing any further damage to your car by limiting the speed insisting that you see a service center ASAP.

I see a P0702

P0702 p1685 fault code on 2.7crd merc transmission

DTC P0702 - Transmission Control System Electrical
There is a code in the ****** control module and need to check harnesses and wiring, as first step.

DTC P1685 - Skim Invalid Key
Transponder ID (in ignition key) is monitored with ignition on. DTC will set if transponder ID read by Smart Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) does not match any transponder ID's stored in SKIM memory. Possible Causes:
- Incorrect VIN In PCM
- Invalid SKIM Key Present
- No Communication With SKIM
- No VIN Programmed In The PCM
- PCM SKIM Trouble Codes Set

I would suggest clearing all these codes, and drive it until the problem arises again, or the check engine light comes on, and then check for codes again. To clear the codes you will need to remove the negative battery cable, and touch it to the positive cable, for about 15 seconds. Then re hook and all the modules will be reset. If this isnt work, visit your Trans Service.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

I have a P0702 transmision trouble diagnostic.how

Transmission Control System Electrical=P0702 code,
Have you talked to a jeep dealer yet,
Ask if there are any TSB's on this problem.
Technical Service Bulletins from Jeep when they find and solve different complaints.
What ever is doing this is a soft code,A soft code is one that will clear it's self with the cycle of the key to off then on and code goes away,But have them check history codes to see if it is there.it sounds like it is going into limp mode, this feature is when the computer sees a transmission falt it wont up shift,so you don't harm the tranny, but will let you limp to a shop to get repaired.have you ever noticed the speedometer going to 0 then this happens?
that would be the output sensor.
