Celica troubleshooting AWS on celica not tuning off

Check maf sensor. As a test, cable tie the connector to the MAF plug.

that is misfire.
can be caused by many things.
1 or more cylinders misfiring.
you got tools? meters , and all that to fix a car, or are you asking
for a wild guess/
ill guess, never tuned up at 60k mile service points.

You may want to check your motor mounts. If the mounts are broken or just too old they will cause the engine to have excessive vibration your notice also when shifting to drive or reverse it will feel like the vehicle jumps. replacing the mounts will help if they are damaged or may be that the vehicle needs a tune up.

check distributor (OHM)
check fuel pressure

I think I solved my own problem just by going to a Schuck's Auto Parts online catalog and made a laundry list of all the things that I have always used in the past plus a couple of others that where particular to that vehicle.

sounds like a vacuum leak, injectors clogged, bad plugs, plug wires or maybe low tranny fluid or combo one all, have it dynoed to save yourself some money of course.

it may be one of the water temp. sensors at the thermostat housing.

also check the plug, wires,distributer cap and rotor.

Dirty fuel filter...replace it.

I had this same problem myself. The hub is a sealed unit and must be purchased as a whole assembly to the tune of around $400 from Toyota. Long story short I never replaced my hub. The problem turned out to be tires that were worn out. I figured that out when i rotated the tires and the sound moved to the front of the car... Go figure. Replaced the tires and all the noise went away.
