Check your fuel rail for pressure... If none turn key on.. if still no pressure you have a faulty fuel pump

SOURCE: Fuel leak (smell is in the passenger vent) but cannot be located.

sounds like it could be a leaking fuel rail. you should fix this very soon. if it is it is a fire hazard. that is if it is under hood and not underneath. look under vehicle and check for wet spots.

Rough idle smell after stopped running

If you have a strong gasoline smell, get that car into a mechanic ASAP. Forget fooling around trying to discover the problem yourself. Gas explodes, right? You already have a strong smell. That means that somewhere down the fuel system line there is an active leak and that is dangerous. The fact you have to post here means you don't know anything about a car, so stop messing around with a potential lethal problem. I am an old alley mechanic from wayyyyy back and am speaking from experience.

Have a 2004 kia sorento, can start and run for like 5 mins then just shuts down. All the lights, radio, heater/ac all work strong. Car won't start afterwards. Any suggestions?

I have a 1997 buick lesabre, and it wont start. I took it to a guy who said that it was the fuel pump. well he changed that but it back fired a couple of times and then it stopped and wont start again. It's just turning over now. well then I found out that the gas I put in it may have had water in it, when the guy went under the hood and pushed out some "gas" it was water it had no smell. so we put some rubbing acohol in it to burn out the water. now it still wont start. I need help, dont know what to do at this point. PLEASE HELP SOMEONE!!!!

Hi- I have a 96' Buick LeSabre, and I thought a few weeks back, that I had bad fuel problems. The car ran rough, poor idle, and jerky acceleration... I tried fuel treatment, (Marvels), I changed the PCV...

On top of the engine find the fuel rail, unplug the vacuum line that is on the pressure regulator and see if it is leaking fuel. if it is that is your problem, it is sending raw fuel into your intake.

when the problem is happening, you need to check to see if you've lost spark or fuel. when you try to restart the car,can you smell gas? if you can,you need to pull off a spark plug wire and put a screwdriver into the end of the wire. set it down 1/4" or so from a metal ground. have someone crank the engine, see if there is a nice strong spark. if so, you're fuel pump is probably faulty. it's inside the gas tank

Possible leak in a fuel line?

likely is a fuel line as your fuel pump is located in the gas tank... as it's is under fairly high pressure you should get it fixed as soon as you can
