9 hrs on a 4wd 7 on a 2wd. That is chilton/mitchell time. a good tech will beat that time but deserves to be paid accordingly

SOURCE: Rear Axle Seal Replacement

remove rear tires, then remove brake calipers and rotors, then remove the 4 nuts (each side) that hold the axle shafts to the axle tube (located around the axle tube behind the backing plate) then using a slide hammer pull the axle shafts out, next using a die grinder and an air hammer get he retainer collar and the bearing off (without damaging the axle shaft) then remove the seal and the outer race which will still be in the housing. next put it all back together, make sure the plate with the studs is still on then slide the seal, bearing, then retainer on (all new parts) and using a press push them all the way back on. then is simple reassembly.

SOURCE: rear main seal replacement for

Wrong. just remove the oil pan, exhaust downpipe and O2 sensor, and starter. take off the crank bearing brace and finally remove the rear main bearing cap. half the seal will be in the cap and half you push out from around the crank with a small brass punch so as not to damage the crank pull out with needle nose pliers and slide the new one in ( noting that oil should go on the mating surface of the crank and liquid dish soap on the outside of the upper seal). rtv the lower seals wings (top and bottom) and reinstall. rear main cap 80ft.lbs i believe, 35ft.lbs for the bearing brace. or just follow this tutorial with pics http://dailydriventj.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=811

1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Oil leaking from the flywheel. Is this the crankshaft oil seal? How dificult to replace. Any good websites with drawings for reference?

Very likely it's the rear seal. You will have to remove the transmission from the jeep in order to gain access to and change that seal.

How hard is it to replace the rear maine oil seal on a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2 liter V8 4 wheel drive

There is some work involve in replacing rear main seal, seal sit in the rear of the engine block, the transmission will have to be remove, and the fly wheel to get to the rear main seal.If you have never removed a engine or transmission, it might be best to pay and have some one do it for you.

How do I check the fluid in the bell housing on a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

The fluid that is inside of your torque converter, which is located in the bell housing is your transmission fluid.. If your tranny fluid level is good, then the fluid inside of your torque converter is good...Now if you are leaking fluid from that area, it could be either your front seal that is inside the bell housing, or your rear main oil seal......

there should be a metal square ring provided it is a sealed beam headlight this ring will have 4 screws holding it in place just undue these screws and remove the connector and replace. If it is not a sealed beam you will have to go under the hood to the back of the headlight and there will be a round screw on holder just grab it and turn it untill it comes off pop the bulb out and replace with the new one hope this helps
