2003 Cruiser - my car doors just unlock even when there is no key in the ignition. Also it randomly keeps unlocking and locking when i'm driving. Any advice? I have called the Chrysler dealers and they are fluffing for lots of money just to check what the problem is!

My 2003 Cruiser started doing this, randomly and rapidly cycling the locks. Believe it or not, the dealer said it was a bad battery. Considering the problem started halfway through a long road trip, I thought the guy was smoking something, but by george, replacing the battery cured the problem.

Replaced battery, and mine still does it.

I'm sorry my solution didn't work. The auto lock mechanism is under the dashboard right at the top, so I think it'll be a bear if that's what's going bad. Did you try Arnold's method (below)?

Sounds like one of the door lock switches is shorting. If possible, disconnect the drivers' side door lock switch first and see if the problem continues. For a problem like this (out of warranty), and reputable repair shop would be less expensive than a dealership.

My automatic door locks on my 96 grand Cherokee keep randomly locking and unlocking almost constantly while driving down the road, even while the car is stopped and the key is out of the ignition.

could be a weak switch , hold it down or off while driving and see if it stops if it does this switch is bad do it to them all till you find the right one , or you have a short in a wire but I think it is the latter , good luck

Locks unlock and lock constantly

With factory controls the door locks get there signal from the body control module and can be set to lock every time the car gets above 15 mph if a door jam switch has a intermittent connection failure this could cause the door locks to cycle at will.
With a aftermarket alarm most lock and unlock with the key cycle and loose grounds can make these modules cycle the locks at will also.

CHevy cobalt door locks- lock and unlock while I am driving had key fob reprogrammed and it was ok for about two hours and started all over again. What can the problem be?

Could be a problem in the shiftier. Your car doors lock automatically when you put the car in drive. They unlock when you put the car in park. The switch located in the shiftier can go bad causing the locks to randomly lock and unlock. Also, this can cause the key to get stuck in the ignition.

My 2003 Honda Pilot locks by itself.

This is something that happens to me on the same car - if you use the fob to unlock the door, ti will lock automatically in about 20 seconds if you do not pull an outside handle to open the door - it is part of the security system - I have not found a solution other than one similar to yours - a "dumb" key in my wallet to unlock the door when it happens
