1. Open Hood.
2. Start taking off parts that are in the way. (You may need to get under the car)
3. Once you get to the part you want to remove; remove it and replace it.
4. Put everything back on

Yeah it's probably a pain in the @$$, but it's the only way.

My 02 cad deville leaking coolant from some sort of bypass hose located toward the back of compartment drivers side

Many Caddys have/had small "radiators" for heat to the rear passengers located under the front seats. Most shops (or owners) never check them or know they exist.

Where is thermstat

Assume you are asking about the thermostat. You can find it by tracing the radiator hose to where it connects on the intake manifold. The piece it connects to is the thermostat housing. The thermostat lives inside that housing.

How to remove and replace the short bypass hose located under another hose

this sounds like a heater hose. If your going to replace this hose then take off the clamp and take a razor blade and cut down the hose until you clearwhat ever the hose is attached to and then peel it off, when you install the new hose use new clamps too....good luck

Heater doesnt work but ac does

Assuming the fan blows OK but you have no heat. Go to the firewall and notice where the heater hoses enter and exit the cabin. You'll notice a metal manifold and also a rubber bypass hose that connects the two. This bypass hose is a design problem and causes the coolant to bypass the heater core which is located inside the cabin under the dash. Over time, the heater core gets blocked by gunk and you'll get no heat. All the coolant flows through the bypass hose when this happens. The fix is to flush the heater core itself. It's difficult to access at the firewall, so I disconnect the two hoses at the engine itself and attach a garden hose to flush it. Before doing this you must clamp (vice grips) the bypass hose so that all of the water goes through the heater core.

I dont no where the t-stat is located on a 2001

The thermostat is located under a small housing, on the engine, and the upper radiator hose attaches to it. To gain access, on a cool engine, drain your coolant, then remove the upper radiator hose, then unbolt the thermostat housing, and remove the thermostat. To install, clean all mating surfaces, and install a new thermostat with a new gasket. Reconnect the upper radiator hose, and fill the engine back up with coolant.

My heater not working, i replaced thermostat and radiator hoses, had radiator flushed and rodded, and still no heat. What is wrong?

Too much blockage in heater hoses or heater core.
Bypass valve may be stuck on "bypass" .

1. Remove bypass "Tees", but don't discard.
Replace with straight-through hose fittings.
The core may start leaking under the water pressure since there is no bypass hose.

Once the heater starts working, put Tees back in place. You need bypass protection or the engine will overheat.

I need to know where the thermastat is located on the car

4 cyl or 3.1 V-6? Follow upper radiator hose to the engine, where it attaches is where the thermostat should be located. The 3.1 appears to be a bit of a pain to access.

Over heating

the thermostat is really easy to locate. when you open up your hood and look at the radiator you will see the upper radiator hose coming out of the radiator on the top. follow this hose to the engine. and where the hose attaches to the engine is where the thermostat is it will be behind the flange that the radiator hose is attached to. the thermostat houseing is usually held on by 2 or 3 bolts. hope this answers your question
