How to locate the low oil senser on my 1995 camaro and replace it.?

The low oil light is on and i have the level full and I run at least 70 pounds of oil pressure on the gauge. I want to replace the censer before I sell it. I know the oil is there but when a potential customer looks it raises a red flag.I want to know where it is and the process to replace it.

The sensor position depends on the particular engine you have. Google oil sending unit with your year make model and engine- most likely your answer is somewhere on you tube. Hope this helps! :-)!

SOURCE: Low oil pressure in 1998 camaro ls1

First have your oil level checked and make sure that it is at the right level. If not that's your problem, if your level is good you may have a bad oil pressure switch. This can be checked by using a oil pressure guage. If switch is bad replace and solve the problem. However if your vehicle has alot of wear and tear on he engine and you were using 20w-50 oil and it was replaced with 5w-30 that oil may be too "light" for the vehicle and you would get a low oil pressure reading. Good Luck

Replace the low coolant sensor right side if radiator. When you replaced the radiator
they may have installed the old sensor.

I had the same problem.

SOURCE: low oil pressure light is on

Until u have a mechanical test gauge hooked up to verify the oil pressure is ok assume it is not a good idea to drive, low oil press will destroy a $4000.00 engine very quickly.

The coolant light is on in my 95 camaro. History: .July 2006 i flushed out the rad and then took it off the road aug 2006....due to financial constraints, not mechanical issues........Its in great...

Hello: If the light is for low coolant level and the radiator/overflow tank are full it will not hurt to drive it. The thermostat has nothing to do with the coolant level switch. The level switch will be in either the overflow tank or the radiator tank.

My oil light is on and beeping like crazy on my 1997 volkswagon jetta and something in the motor keeps clicking on top of that i would like to know why?

Usually when the oil light comes on, its too late to save the engine if the sensor is working properly.

Check the oil in your engine under the hood. If it has the correct amount of oil, check the wire going to the oil pressure sensor located on the side of the engine. It may be loose or the sensor may have failed sending a false reading.

If you do not have oil in the engine " no oil pressure" you may have badly hurt the engine, and the noise you are hearing is the rocker arms begging for mercy.

Good luck! write back

Oil level light comes on inthe afternoon on 1995 cadillac 4.9 when coming to astop

assuming your oil is full and you have changed the oil regularly the light is telling you you have low oil pressure

untreated this will lead to engine failure

if you are lucky, its just an oil pressure switch issue

that being said... check you oil level and/or change your oil and see what happens

Need to know how to check oil in transmition in a 95 ford aspire

Check the engine oil level every time you fill the gas tank. The car should be on level ground when checking the oil.
  1. Turn the car off and wait several minutes.
  2. Locate the engine oil dipstick and withdraw it from the tube.
  3. Wipe the dipstick with a clean rag and reinsert it in the dipstick tube.
  4. Remove the dipstick again, hold the dipstick horizontally and observe the level of the oil.

Fig. 1: Grasp the engine oil dipstick and withdraw it from the tube

22d3954.gif
Fig. 2: Observe the oil level on the dipstick and add oil if it is low

  1. The oil level should be at the FULL mark on the dipstick.
  2. If the level is at or near the LOW mark, replace the dipstick and add fresh oil to bring the level up to the FULL mark. Do not overfill.
  3. Recheck the oil level and close the hood.

Good luck, and remember rated this help!!!

Low oil pressure

I believe your sending unit is located on the top of the block, towards the fire wall. You can get an inexpensive pressure test gauge and put in place of your sending unit. It should be a 1/4" NPT fitting. Does the pressure gauge fluctuate between low and high RPM? If so, chances are that your oil pump may need to be replaced.
