It may be worn out valve lifters that are inside the engine. If you have more than 6,000 miles on the oil, valve lifters could run noisier. Changing to a high mileage type of motor oil may quite down the valve lifters noise somewhat. Synthetic oil used during the summer months could make it noisier too. If you can hear the noise while driving the car, it is not normal. Upon acceleration, if it gets noisier, you will be needing a valve job in the not to distant future.

What will be the problem if i have a taping noise when i start my car until it gets warm mitsubishi 380

A tapping noise that starts out cold and goes away when warm is usually caused by a valve lifter inside the engine. The lifter may be worn/leaking down and will be noisy until it fills with oil pressure. You can try an oil additive ( Lucas Oil Additive ) available at most part stores works very well with noisy lifters. Another noise that can happen cold and go away when warm is an exhaust manifold leak. However, this is normally a ticking type sound rather than a tapping sound.

Wat must i do wen the cams is making sounds

have it adjusted ASAP, HOPEFULLY THAT SHOULD CURE THE TAPPETY SOUND. It may be that the sound is indicative of heavy wear, this may necessitate the camshaft's replacement.

What is causing

There is a possibility that you have a bad oil leak some where. Check valve covers, oil pan Etc, Good-Day! The sound you hear from engine, is because there is little oil getting to the tappets on engine for the valves. Sounds like the oil is running down on hot exhaust manifold, and smoking. That is the smell. Have it checked by a mechanic to find cause. Of oil leak!

Can the tappets be adjusted on a Hyundia Tucson 4 x 4 V6 ,2.7 petrol engine?

Not normally, if they are noisy you can try a heavier oil in the engine.

A 10-40 vrs a 10-30 and change the oil at 5000k religiously.

or you add an oil additive to knock down the noise.

eventually you will have to replace the tappets.
you may want to pull the valve covers and verify all valve rockers are torqued correctly -- looseness hear can create noise.

Noisy valves 5.2 engine

How noisy are they, are they noisy when you start the engine and then quiet down, do they get louded as you go faster? Noisy valves could be normal as Chrysler engines do have a clicking sound on these big engines. It is a hemi by the way.

Why are the lifters of my pajero io noisy

those engines are known for lifters draining in order to restore them you must run the engine rpm about 2000 rpm for 5 minutes .they shoudld quiet down mitsubishi says to run them at 4000 rpm for 10 min,but i rebuild *** engines for 20+ years i dont recomend this with out causing damage to eng just hold the rpm to 2000 until the get quiet make sure you have fresh oil and the engine as good oil press

Cold start engine very noisy and tappety

Sounds like your oil is draining back out of the lifters or your oil is to thick.
