There should be a small rubber plug near the shifter that you can see near the shifter, take that out and insert a key or screwdriver in it and gently press down. This unlocks the shifter. In the mean time the same circuit is wired to the brake pedal and has a switch and if it comes loose or fails then it wont shift out of park so check the brake pedal switch.
I am thinking your problems are one in the same you have a safety lock on your shifter that will not allow you to shift it from park unless you push down on the brake which then send a voltage signal to unlock your shifter but if the voltage is never sent you will not be able to shift it out of park. There is an emergency access through a small hole next to your shifter that you could put a screw driver in there and push down to unlock your shifter. Sometimes this hole has a small cover over that you need to remove. Check to see if your brake lights are working if not this could be the problem as the voltage needed to unlock your shifter usually comes from the brake switch down on the brake pedal let me know how it goes.
Put your foot on the brakes and have someone see if you have brake lights. This has a shift interlock that uses the brake lights to complete the circuit that unlocks the shifter from park. You can bypass this saftey feature by applying brake, engine off key off and moving shifter to neutral then starting the engine Dont forget to fix your brake lights !!
Could be a problem with the brake light switch or the shift lock solenoid. You may be able to take the shifter out of park if you try it with the key between unlock and on.
Usually a problem with the brake switch or the solenoid that locks the shifter in park. You may be able to unlock the key switch without turning the switch on, then take the shifter out of park.
for the pannel ,check the fuse ,for the shifter you have to unlock it,but it wont move no where with the car off, your car owner manual will explain everything about.step by step.
CHECK BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND FUSE.IF ALL IS GOOD, YOU HAVE A FAULTY BRAKE AND TRANSMISSION SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID.IF BROKEN OR NO POWER GOING TO IT FROM THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH.CAR WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK.
