Code p0420 is 'catalyst efficiency below threshold'.

This could be caused by a bad catalytic converter but before dumping a ton of money on that I would suspect the after-cat oxygen sensor is getting lazy and setting the code.

Have the O2 sensors checked and replace if needed before suspecting the catalytic converter.

On most cars it's pretty much the same. Make sure the reservoir is full and leave cap off it. Get a small crescent, dot3 fluid and another person. Have them pump up the clutch and hold it to the floor. You open the bleeder on the slave cylinder and let it squirt until stops. Close bleeder. Check reservoir and add if needed. Repeat. Do this about 3 times and will do the trick unless you have a leak in the line.
