How do I disconnect the chime from automatic door .Had to cut cable as it jammed . Took out fuse but radio and clock now do not work .Can I disconnect wire from chimes .I knoe it comes from speakers .

My 05 Terraza chimed due to poor contact with side door body pad (flat copper looking). To stop I cleaned with electric contact cleaner - didn't last. Finally took fine grade steel wool "0000" buffed pad lightly then sprayed with cleaner. WORKED for me, took 2-3 times to get complete success.

The chime is shut off from the door latch being closed. The chime sound does come from the radio. Not really a way to get rid of it unless you fix the problem or put in an aftermarket radio. By cutting the cable? was it the cable that opens the door or a wiring cable. If it was the door cable, it could have caught some wires inside the body panel behind the door, there is a module for the door in there.

Try this
disconnect battery
undo the fuse box and look at the wires behind that fuse you pulled

check that only radio and clock wiring are fitted there

the chime may its own power source

i could be wrong
i thought chime was separate to sound system speakers
and comes from a small but loud sound device on the instrument panel circuit board ..much like a computer

Not for sure on rotors, but you may try pulling up on the e-brake pedal. I had that problem with a ford and thats all it was. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: chimes are going off -

be sure all doors are closed, put the key in passengers door and unlock and lock it with the key, do the same to drivers door, that should stop the chime.

SOURCE: 97 brake light chime

Several possibilities here, First, if your parking brake lever is even slightly engaged your brake light will be on. so check the cable and switch to make sure it is not this. Second is the brake pressure switch on the master cylinder, the switch could be bad or your lines may need bleeding. and last, unless there is a separate light for it you anti-lock brakes could have an issue, which I would recommend a qualified mech look at that.

SOURCE: my 2002 rendezvous chimes and all dash trouble

Hello there and welcome to fixya
These vehicals have had a recent history of the dash module going out and needing replacing if this module goes out every thing in the electronic side will do what you are explaining
So you may have to take the vehicle to your local dealership and explain this problem to them and they should be able to fix this problem for you for free
a lot of the vehicals have a manufactures recall on them so please check on this ok
Best regards Mike

Got in my 09 Impala after work & no display or sound from my radio. Went to the gas station stopped opened the door no door chime? I have no clue what the problem is, the dash indicators work?

It seems to me you should check your fuses, they burn all the time. There inside your car most of the times under or near the steering wheel somewhere in that erea

My sister has a 2000 chevy cavalier b4 the door chime and the interior dome light worked now they both dont, we replaced the bulb and fuse to no avail and I have no clue what's wrong with the chime.

the chime actually is done with the radio. the front drivers door speaker. so if the radio works and the front left speaker works. then more then likely you have a defective door switch. located in the door jam that controls the dome light

Were is the fuse for door bell

Is the door chime working and you want to disable it or is there no chime at all?First off the door chime comes through the radio speaker,if you need to disable it you will need to cut the wire from the speaker to the chime. If is annoying you can spray foam on it and muffle it .I believe that it uses data bits from the head unit (radio) to function so another way to get rid of it is sort of drastic but change out your head unit.Sorry your question only asked about where the fuse is and to the best of my knowledge is that is is none.

I have a 2001 pontiac grand am and once i plug in the stock stereo the door chime sounds but when i turn the car off and take the keys out of the ignition the door chime still sounds!! How do you fix

Chimes are generated by the radio. Unplugging the radio and then plugging it in can activate the security feature in the radio and is very unwise. You can try resetting it by disconnecting the negative battery wire, then plugging the radio in and reconnecting the battery wire. If that doesn't work, check with a dealer to see if they can reset it, but if the radio has been damaged by what you are doing, you may have to replace it.
