I was in a car wreck April 24, 2014. I was hit in the rear on the right passenger side. The body shop has had the car three weeks doing repairs. We got it back yesterday and the "service Airbag" warning light is now on. Could you tell us what to do and is the car safe to drive? Thank you, J Hunt
I had the same problem years ago with my Dodge Dynasty. The airbag light came on for no apparent reason. I took it to the dealer and they said they fixed it. Two days later the light came back on again so I went back to the dealer and they told me there was nothing wrong with the airbag and didn't know why the light was on. A few years later I gave the car to my grandson and he took it out to the desert and drove it over a huge dirt hill (not very smart) and when the car came down over the hill the airbag came out uninflated. I drove around all that time with a useless airbag based on what the dealer told me. I would suggest taking it back to the repair shop and let them check it out. If they can't find out what is wrong I would definitely get a new airbag. I know they can be expensive but your life is worth a lot more.
Good luck.

SOURCE: Passenger Air Bag Warning light stays son
is this van new for you ? is it a status light letting you know that the airbag is loaded and ready for anypassenger that you have in your van ? do you have a key that you can turn it off in most vans there is an option to turn air bag on or off depending on size or opinion of passenger . im thinking that if its a status light its okay to be on letting you know its ready for opperation . take a look at your owners manual airbag section . and if it does turn out to be a warning malfunction indicator please dont waste time take it to your local dealer and have it checked out .hope this information helps good luck

talk to your insurance company, hopefully they will make an adjustment for the extra repairs. i hate to sound like a commercial but, geico helped me out when that happened to me, when my daughter wrecked my truck.
SOURCE: wrecked 2004 suburban how do you measure the frame
Well you can measure from the lower front balljoint with a tape measure all the way back to the middle of the rear axle housing on the same side, then do that for the other side your measurements probabley won't be the exact same on both sides but should be within about a 1/4 of and inch. Then you can do the cross measure way by taking the tape measure and going from the left front lower balljoint to the right rear axle housing then do the same for the other side. This should also be within about 1/4 of an inch.
