First thing you have to do is get in the car while someone sprays the problem area with a hose so you can see where the water is coming in from. That being said open up the hood and check for debris in the cowl area. Often leaves will collect around the drains and let water pool

He is right. I just cleared mine. You have to put the wipers in the up position and remove the cowl covers.. You will probably see water in the bottom. Either way reach down with your hand and push your fingers through. That will clear out the clog. You should do it on both sides..

Sounds like your A/C drain is clogged since its in that area...only other drain holes are at the very bottom of the doors which would not cause a build-up of water in the area your talking about...chek A/C drain hose/pipe...if its raining when you find this build-up of water then possibly your windshield needs attention...just squirt a water hose at the windshield in the general area of the leak and have someone look inside for any leaks...Cecil

SOURCE: 2006 mustang water leaking rear floor

Hi , Its leaking water on the passenger rear floor? It could be the heater core leaking and running down the floor board to the rear of the vehical. Do you smell antifreez or see moisture build up on the windshield ? does the car seem more "humid" inside?

2008 mustang water. on passenger floor board when it rains ...help !

Sounds like the windshield is leaking. Run water over the windshield and have someone get inside car and look for the leak. Alternatively take it to a reputable windshield repair shop and have them check it.

Mustang water leaking on passenger side floor.

I have 2005 mustang and had the same problem 4 yrs after I bought my .Mustang when it was still under the warranty I took it to the dealer where I purchased vehicle. They charged me $150.00 to change the cabin air filter they said the old one was blocked with leaves and suggested not to park vehicle under trees which is kind of hard to do when I live on a street with a lot of trees. Everything was fine until 2 years later it started leaking in passenger side again.Pulled cabin air filter saw no leaves.Of course now warranty ran out .I went on a mustang web forum to find there were other people with same problem and not just a mustang problem there were other makes and models having same problems .One person fixed the problem. Here is the fix. Pop your hood look under where the cowl grill sits on the right and left side there is a rubber drain on each side( hard to see)so feel with your fingers check to see if they are blocked with dirt or leaves if so clean them so water can flow through them when it rains .That is what was causing water to come in on my passenger side right underneath the glove box in my mustang now every few months I check to see if they are blocked I have not had anymore problems with water coming in on passenger side . Sad thing is when i purchased my mustang i wish the dealer would have told me not to park my car under trees so i wouldn\'t have a water I would have thought twice about buying a car that you can\'t park under trees because I live in an area where there is a whole lot of trees. Thanks a lot Ford for designing such a crappy car !!!! Good luck I hope this fixes your water problem.

Water in front passenger area

Hood misalignment, cowl cover misalignment, wiper module drain tube(s), and/or the lower plenum drain hose may cause the HVAC housing to leak water onto the passenger side floor. Diagnoses will be required to confirm the location of a water leak in the front passenger area.

It is likely that there are leaves or simular which have blocked the drain holes, however gaining access to these areas can be quite tricky and is best performed by someone with the right experience\tools

Water leak on drivers side in my 1999 Honda Civic DX Coupe

Go to the passenger side or driver side there you need to find the A/C drain tube make sure that it is draining outside and not in the compartment area. This drain hose tends to pop out, so when you have the A.C on you notice there is water draining out but in your case its going in thhe car.

I have a 2006 ford mustang and the radio sound quit. The cd sound is fine, could a leak in the passenger side dash cause this problem?

I had the same problem when i had a leak on the passenger side dash. my radio went out. under the hood at the top you will have to remove the wipers and plastic cowling. under that is a drainage area with a rubber gromit for the water to feed out. if it is plugged just use your hand to remove any debris in the way. it will drain fine then. after the leak is stopped reset the radio. do this by either disconnecting the battery for a few minutes or disconnecting the switches under the passenger dash on the right side wall

My 2006 Mustang recently had water leaking beneath the dash on the passenger side. Water was about 1/2" deep. We had about 2 inches of rain during the night and I saw it running down as I drove off.

Most cars have a void underneath ( inside ) where the wiper arms come out. It catches rain water off the windshield so that it doesn't run down the firewall inside the engine compartment where there could be some electrical stuff. There will always be a drain hose to drain that area , which can become pluged up with leaves etc. over time. If you can look around under the car , and possibly in the wheel well , you might find the other end of that drain hose. A quick shot of water at the car wash , backwards up the hose , is often enough to clear the drain. Otherwise you might have to open it up and clean it out. If that area became full of water , there are lots of places where it could leak through the firewall and into the car.
Of course , if the water is actually engine coolant , then I would say your heater core has a leak.

AC is leaking water onto the floor on the passenger side, some said the drain line could be plugged?

Yes, the weep drain. Inside the engine compartment, on the firewall, passenger side, half way between top and bottom of firewall. Small rubber tube comes out, then does a 90* turn towards the ground then just stops. You can remove the weep drain and clean it, or use wire to "poke" around and break up the debris. I suggest removing it.

Water Leak in Passenger Side Floor Vent Area after car wash

Unless this happens in the rain as well, I would not worry about it. Likely in the car wash, far more water is coming in than the normal drain system can handle, therefore causing it to overflow. If you do have a drain obstruction, find the drain hose (small right angle hose on firewall passenger side) and roll it in your fingers to clear it.
