2001 Hyundai XG Car Alarm Will Not Stop, Car Wont Start

I somehow triggered my 2001 Hyundai XG Car Alarm to go off today and i can't get the car to start now. I must have opened the door the wrong way but my car alarm is going off constantly now and I do not have a keyless remote lock to set off the alarm.

The only temporary solution i have is to put the key in the "on" position which after 30 seconds or so the alarm will start. I was told to then turn the key to start and the car should start up. IT DOES NOT

I do not know how else to start the car. Over the phone the dealer said the battery could have died - which i doubted because i just used the car and stepped out for a second and even after jumping it did not work.

HELP! Whhat should I do!!

THANK YOU so much

Pull out the ecm fuse for a minute and then reinstall it.

Check the engine compartment fuse/relay box. There should also be a relay in there for the alarm. Also check for alarm or ecm fuse inside the vehicle fuse box, left kick panel under dash drivers side.

Also try starting the vehicle with the purple key. It should cancel / reset the alarm.

2001 Hyundai Sonata V6 Alarm Constantly going off after reconnecting battery and car fails to start. Just replcaed crank sensor this morning and car ran and cranked as usual. Any ideas?

I don't think crank sensor has something to do with it unless the engine lights turns on and scanned were done and found the crank sensor code spits out... now you stated the alarm kept going off, question for you is the alarm a factory or aftermarket? if factory you are talking about maybe the anti theft triggered the " kill switch " to prevent from starting... what you can do is find the relay of the alarm module disconnected and try starting the car..

2004 hyundai xg 350 l the alarm went off now it wont start

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you remove the positive battery connector and let is sit for atleast 5mins. then reconnect it again. Reconnecting the positive connector will reset the system and can get your vehicle back to it's normal operation.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

I have a 05 hyundai sonata. I put a new battery in now the alarm goes off and I don't have a remote. Car wont start

If it is an after market alarm you should be able to remove the in-line fuse from the power line to the alarm and solve the problem. Since you don't have the remote this was a problem anyway since if the alarm was triggered it would leave you stranded. It sounds like the starter kill switch is engaging. The key in the ignition should reset the alarm but sometimes they don't. You can try disconnecting the Positive cable from the battery and grounding it for 30 sec then reconnect it if the alarm is built in by the factory.

Car wont start

Sounds like you have a shorted wire causing a drain. I recommend disconnecting the alarm all together which should stop the short so battery can remain fully charged.

Alarm

My Jetta has done this before. I get back in the car and somehow the alarm starts going off. I've always just used my keyfob to first lock and then unlock the doors again and it goes off. Hope this works for you!
