The 3800 v6 motors have the reservoir on the power steering pump - if looking at motor drive belt - alt on top of motor back toward windshield - p/s is at bottom of motor toward windshield - lean over motor or slide arm down around alt. - when not running and not hot - unscrew cap - funnel will be needed if fluid is low

This pump sits down below tha alternator. If it does not have a remote resevoir than the resevoir sits on top of the pump. It is a pain to get to.

3.8 engine you drain out coolant.remove serpentine belt and coolant hoses from water pump .then you remove pulley bolts then water pump bolts. then clean gasket surface be careful dont scratch the surfaces up.put in new pump. toque it to 29 ft the long bolts.torque .97 inch pound for short bolts.

My 2000 does this and it's the wiring harness where it goes between the door and the cowl. There's a loose connection in there somewhere. If I move the wires around with the door open (where they go through the body) it works again.

it's in the fuel tank! need to get it u in the air about 4 or more feet of the ground. you may get away with it being less and there is two straps holding the tank it they are attached to the body with 15mm bolts. you will need to disconnect the filler neck where you put gas by taking the hose clamps off and then disconnect fuel lines and electrical after you have it half way down straps removed! ask any more question you have
