How do we access the inside of the door panel in my 2008 Chevy impala? There still seems to be power in the switch, but it won't raise the drivers window. We need to see if the strap used to raise and lower the window is broke and if we can fix it ourselves.

My 2008 chevy impala power window on the driver si - z

General instructions for door panel removal; Door panels are attached to the door frame with clips such as the one above. The ribbed, screw-like part of the clips are inserted into holes in the door frame around the perimeter of the sides and bottom of the panel
Auto Repair Mechanics How to Remove Car Door Panel

The video shows details of door panel removal. First locate all the screws on the door panel, usually at the door handle and door rest. Look for any hidden screws that may be covered with small plastic caps.

After all screws are removed, the side and bottom clips need to be popped out of the door frame. You can purchase a set of trim tools to pop the clips, or you can use flat blade screw drivers and a flat putty knife to pop the clips out. Sometimes the clips break, but they are replaceable. Once the sides and bottom are loose, the top of the panel is loosened by lifting up on the panel, disengaging the panel from the top track on the door frame. Be careful of wiring connectors, which will have to be disconnected to completely remove the panel.

SOURCE: power door locks and drivers window have failed on 2004 colorado

I had the same problem to the T. I look online for all the same solutions and I can only tell you what worked for me. Actually what I think worked, HAHA! I went out to my truck and unplugged both battery terminals from battery and placed them together to supposedly reset the electrical system, "so I was told." After this for about 20 min or so, I went back out and in this order; re-installed positive terminal followed by negative terminal to battery. After this I checked locks and windows and surprise they worked. I've seen a lot of people say that all they did was wait and they worked later, so maybe it was that and not what I did, but who cares, they work now. Give it a shot and if it works for you, GREAT let me know, I HATE CHEVY CAUSE OF THIS......they wanted me to pay for a stupid diagnostic before they would help me........well screw you I fixed myself. SOURCE: Driver Side Window won't work- Chevy Blazer 2003

If it does not make any noise, or sound like its getting any power, most likely its the switch.

If neither switch works it is a bad connection at the motor or bad ground or a bad motor. Remove the door panel unplug the motor push the switch and see if there is 12volts on the wires if there is the motor is bad There are small brushes in the motor that go bad tap on the motor while pushing the switch if it works that way replace it

Try to replace the window regulator. Sounds like worn out guide wheels.

I have a 2002 Chevrolet Impala. My front driver's side power window began to struggle while trying to raise it. It soon stopped working and the other 3 windows stopped working as well (at the same time)....

hmm, switches are hard to check ,you sure?,if so check the wiring between the drivers door and the body, from the drivers door opening and closing more than the rest, sometimes the wires will break inside the rubber boot at the hinge area ,cut the boot and peek inside.

My all my power windows stop working so i bought the master switch thats on the driver side and it worked for a couple of days and then it stopped working with the same problem all the windows dont go down...

Please be more specific. Do the windows go down from their respective window control?? If the do then you may have a faulty master switch or faulty wiring damaging the master switch.

Power window won't go up on 2004 chevy impala

Start with the basics check the fuses then make sure there is voltage to the switch. Then check to see that the voltage is coming out the other side of the switch when depressed if it is then probably your window motor has gone bad. If no voltage coming out then chances are your power window switch is bad

2006 Chevy Impala power windows won't work

It does sound like you have a short in the master switch on the drivers side. If the passengers switch does not work, check the left master switch and the window lock switch.

3 of My Windows Stopped Rolling

Check to see if the "lockout" button on the driver side master switch is depressed. This button, when activated, kills all power to the other 3 windows.
