SOURCE: trying to get the bearing off of the cv axle 1994 camry

I think you mean cv joint. If so, a new axle cost $59. You are doing alot of extra work and the joints could be damaged. The outer joint comes off, but it takes a large hammer. The inner joint usually has an inboard ring clip that you pop out with a screwdriver.

probably the easiest way is to go to your public library and look through their auto repair books and photocopy the page with the instructions/pictures for your particular job.

SOURCE: I M TRYING TO REMOVED THE DRIVER SIDE AXLE BOOT ON

I assume you have removed the axle from the wheel hub? and if you didn't and can't get it past the hub you will have to disconnect the lower ball joint by remove the bolt and tap on the tie rod end to remove the tie rod end then force the ball joint down to swing out the rotor Assembly and remove the axle nut and move it out of the way and take a flat bar and snap the shaft out of the transmission. And sometimes like the first guy said the snap ring could be damaged and it can be a bear to get out god luck, and if you drop the axle on the seal you will have to replace that too.

Use a pry bar and lever the axle out of the transmission.

It's easier if you have the outer end of the axle already removed from the hub.

To put the axle back in, use one quick shove and it will pop into place.

SOURCE: need help removing right side cv axle on 94 toyota

Assuming you have the spindle off - you need a pry bar between the inner mount and the transaxle. Give it a bit of a snap as it is held in with a lock ring around the spline. Note the gap - when replacing it - pop it in fairly well till you feel the snap ring lock back into position. If you are replacing it - inspect the new one - the lock ring should already be installed.

How do I change cv joint 1996 Buick park ave

It is cheaper and easier to replace the entire half shaft than to replace one CV joint on the half shaft. The only special tool needed is the axle nut socket. support the vehicle, remove the wheel, remove the axle nut, remove the lower ball joint, separate the lower control arm from the spindle, push the outer CV stub in from the hub, then remove the inner CV stub from the transmission. The inner has a circlip that will hold it in, you will need to get a prybar behind the flange and pry against the transmission case to get it to separate. But that's it, reverse procedure to install new half shaft making sure to torque everything back to specifications.

How do you pull the drive shafts out of toyota avalon from the transmission its a front wheel drive

Hello,

Changing these are not to tough actually.
  1. First you need to remove the tire rod ball joint from the spindle. (This is the middle ball joint on the spindle) (the spindle holds the wheel) Remove that bolt.
  2. Now take a mallet and hit the side of the spindle a couple good times and the arm will come loose.
  3. Lift it up and pull it to one side.
  4. Now the next thing to do is remove that lower ball joint. This is the bottom bolt on the spindle. You will need a pry bar and while your hitting the side of the spindle you will pry down until the lower ball joint and the spindle separate. You may need to pry the clamp apart too. This is where you removed that bolt from. This one can be a pain but is necessary.
  5. Next you need to get the get a Axle bolt remover the size of your axle bolt in a 1/2 inch drive.
  6. You will now remove the axle bolt.
  7. Now you you want to tap on the end of the axle rod as you hold onto the spindle and tap the axle lose from the hub.
  8. Once the spindle moves out from the axle then turn the spindle and move it just to one side of the axle.
  9. You should now have full view of the CV axle.
  10. Now get a long pry bar and get back there with the pry bar where the axle connects to the transmission and while prying on that CV axle pull out on it to. It may take a bit of fooling with as they can be stuck in there pretty good but eventually it will pop out of there. A note not to put your face in the path of the CV Axle or it may split your head when it comes popping out of the transmission.
  11. Now the CV Axle is out.
  12. Reverse steps to install new CV Axle.
  13. When you install the new CV axle make sure it goes in the same way it came out and make sure it "clicks" into place real good.
  14. Repeat steps to do the other side.
Regards, Tony

Sometimes CV joints develop bad harmonics when they are out of sync with each other in a certain way. It passes, until they line up just right to start vibrating again. Bad design.

1996 jetta, drive shaft seals

Best way to remove the axle is yo place a prybar between the transmission and axle housing and give it a quick jolt. The axle is held in the transmission slines by a retainer ring so all you have to do is pop it out. But be careful not to tear the cv boot and do not pull on the shaft or you will seperate the cv joint. Good luck.. Hope this helps.
