Transmission - reverse gear is shot or solenoid pack needs to be replaced. First step is check trans fluid. If the vehicle does not move at all in reverse, will need a transmission shop or dealership to look at it.
If it also dies in drive it is a TCC (torque converter control/lockup) valve that is stuck or the TCC solenoid. If it drives forward, then it is internal problems. Planetary gears/sun gears that have broken.
Sounds as if forward driving gears are shot. Different gears make vehicle move in reverse. I would ask if transmission fluid level when checked is in the operation range or full.
Your transmission drive train clutch have damage or broken gears parts. This problems must have to be evaluate and fixes by the professional in the transmissions field.Best places.Tries places like Amco,Many,Moe,Jack have the latest trains personals in transmissions vehicles work.
Maybe your differential is shot and will only allow reverse spin or the transmission was not really rebuilt professionally. Was the transmission checked outside of your car after rebuild? Does your vehicle have a Powertrain Control Module (PCM)? Maybe the module went bad or faulty.
Some of the Ford transmissions actually have an aluminum gear which will go out somewhere around 150 to 200 thousand miles. OR it could be really low on transmission fluid.
I think you are saying the vehicle pulls forward,no matter what gear you put the shifter in?If this is the case, there is a problem with the forward clutch.I've seen this one over and over in many different transmissions and vehicles. The forward clutch pack is always applied whenever the vehicle is moving forward. It is never applied in reverse,or neutral. So,the forward clutch pack loses clearance from normal wear and tear,or a seal in the pack goes bad,and the clutches start slipping....and slipping........still slipping.....until they get SO hot,the clutch plates and steel plates fuse together, are welded together. This is why your Millenia is going forward in reverse and neutral. It's either that or you have a problem with the shifter cable,or linkage, and you didn't mention anything about the detents,or not being able to obtain Park,so i assume all that is ok
