My 95 ford mustang manual trans 3.8 v6 makes this loud grinding dragging sound upon pressing the gas pedal when there is any weight in the back. noise stops when I release accelerator or push in clutch. recently I've had new shocks, struts, lowering springs ,left rear outer tie rod end and upper ball joints replaced as well as had stock 15" wheels/tires taken off and 17" wheels and tires put on it. I've had nothing but trouble with it since (wandering and pulling at high speeds (tramlining/bump steer?) mostly, and popping noises and now this loud grinding). what could this noise be caused from and what can I do to improve drivability without having to go back to stock suspension? if anyone could help me figure this out, because having my car in and out of the shop has cost me a ton over the last 2 months. also I've had front brakes inspected recently and less than a year ago: rear brakes replaced and both front rotors replaced.
SOURCE: suspension groans when making a left turn
sometimes the noise is in the steering wheel the plastic is rubbing together causing that sound.

What was said about the wear of the front end part when the alignment was given? I could be wrong but, I would say, Not likely for the tie rod ends and definately not the shocks for knocking sounds.. It sounds more like bad ball joints poping, although the idler arm and tye rod ends could be worn also .
There
are many possibilities that can cause car to make noise.
It's
actually from where the noise is coming from. Front end or rear end. From
engine area or from inside the steering or from brakes.
There
is N-number of possibilities for the car to make noise or any other familiar kind of noise.

now the noise is constant even without weight in the back of car. I will have the drive shaft u joint bearings checked as Mike Lange suggested and keep you posted. ty
You may have a problem with your rear differential if it is not the U joint
