I HAVE A 2000 DODGE NEON I JUST BOUGHT WITH NO KEYS . I TOOK OUT THE IGNITION AND GOT A USED ONE FROM A INTREPID WITH THE IMMOBILIZER I GUESS ITS CALLED I CANT GET IT TO START THE CAR THE KEY TURNS AND EVERYTHING COMES ON BUT WONT START. I CAN JUMP THE STARTER WORE AND IT WILL TURN OVER BUT NO START ANY IDEAS ?

Some mobile locksmiths have capabilities of reprogramming keys

you will have to have the key programmed to the different immobilizer and the immobilizer programmed to the ECM

to reprogram new key first you need to use 2 factory program keys.place first factory key in the ignition first turn ignition on for 3 seconds. then turn off ignition then install second factory in the ignition on position for 10 seconds.when immobilizer warning lamp begins to flash a acoustic signal is emitted.within 60 seconds. switch ignition off and remove key.then insert new key and switch on for 10 seconds a acoustic signal is emitted and immobilizer warning lamp remain illuminated for 3 seconds indicating programming completed.if all fails dealership has to reprogram new keys.

You need a new immobilizer and then have it and the keys reprogrammed to your car.

You have a immobilizer in the ignition you will need to have it scanned to the key...Some mobile locksmiths can do this.

Check the battery cables if there ok then check the fuses there is one for the start that migh have ben blown

I too have a 2002 dodge Intrepid, after 10 minutes of driving the car, when i make a stop it won't shift properly, in order to make it shift, i have to turn the ignition off and back up again!
If anyone can help me locate the TCM that would be great.
I'm ready to drive it off a cliff

it is bad you need to go to your nearest junkyard and get a used one. had many go bad on stratus,sebrings,intrepids,neon they all take the same one in 2000 all the way to 2005 or 2006

look everyone !!! i am not the only one who has this problem , but I found the answer on my own.... iI hope this can help others . If you have to replace a neon engine you must do these thing if you want it to start.

crankshaft timing relearn procedure as follows:
² Connect the DRB scan tool to the data link
(diagnostic) connector. This connector is located in
the passenger compartment; at the lower edge of
instrument panel; near the steering column.
² Turn the ignition switch on and access the “miscellaneous”
screen.
² Select “re-learn cam/crank” option and follow
directions on DRB screen

Most people don't have access to this scanner <but it must be done> I used a snap-on cost 3000 but have the reset feature
