Where is the fuse for the rear window defroster on a 2011 Escape?

30 amp fuse-undefined-undefined-0.jpg 30 amp fuse. Also, if the type of grid I'm thinking, do a continuity test on the grid. If no continuity, the grid has a broken spot. Some auto stores have a continuity paint or whatever you call it, to paint over broken spot and restore continuity.

Location of fuse for defrost

There should be a fuse in the interior fuse panel for the rear window defroster, but the windshield defrost is a mechanical connection from the heater controller. If your heater works out of the vents and the floor position, but not diverting air to the defroster you most likely have an issue with either the cable or the diverter door itself.

Rear defrost not working on 2004 Impala

Most GM cars and trucks use the fuse panel for safety with the rear defroster...Check your owners manual for the location of the fuse block...I think it is inside your glove box...Try the fuse first...if not the fuse...your options include replacing the glass inserted strips...(do not remove) with a rear shelf defroster blower motor... or an add on rear window defroster...Your auto parts stores should have both...Hope this helps.

Hello 2006 Kia Rear defroster does ot work. I checked and changed the fuse but the fuse looked ok. Any help as to where to look for the problem would be appreciated. Thankyou, larry

It could be a bad rear defroster control switch or relay, it could be a loose or damaged connector somewhere in the defroster circuit, or it could be a damaged or defective defroster grid on your rear window. The easiest way to check to see if you have a circuit problem or a grid problem is to check for voltage at the connectors to the defroster grid at the rear window area. These connectors may even be located inside the trunk just below the rear window. If there is power there, then the circuits are OK and the rear window will most likely have to be replaced to fix it. If there is no power there, then the circuits must be traced to locate the cause of the failure...Most likely a burned-up switch and/or connector.

The fuses are located behind the coin holder to the left of the steering wheel. There's a fuse and a relay related to the rear window defogger unit. Scroll through the images here for help:

There is a module that controls the rear window defogger grid . LGM/ EGM Liftgate or endgate module .Receive's message on class 2 serial data network from the HVAC control module to turn it on when button pressed . Fuse # 3 30 amp located in the rear fuse box . Do you know where the rear fuse box is ?
Rear Window Defogger Description and Operation
Rear Window Defogger System Components
The rear window defogger system consist of the following components:
• HVAC control module
• Liftgate module (LGM)/endgate module (EGM)
• Rear window defogger grid
Rear Window Defogger Operation (With LGM)
Battery positive voltage is supplied through the LGM 2 fuse to the LGM for the rear window defogger system. When the rear window defogger switch is depressed, the HVAC control module illuminates the rear window defogger indicator, and sends a class 2 message to the LGM to enable the rear window defogger. The LGM enables the rear window defogger by allowing battery positive voltage to the rear window defogger.
When the rear window defogger switch is pressed for the first time, the defogger cycle lasts 10 minutes. Further operation results in 10 minute defogger cycles.
Rear Window Defogger Operation (With EGM)
Battery positive voltage is supplied through the EGM 2 fuse to the EGM for the rear window defogger system. When the rear window defogger switch is depressed, the HVAC control module illuminates the rear window defogger indicator, and sends a class 2 message to the EGM to enable the rear window defogger. The EGM enables the rear window defogger by allowing battery positive voltage to the rear window defogger.
The following conditions must be met for rear window defogger to operate:
• The end gate glass position is not below the index position.
• The window express down movement is not requested.
• The window down movement is not requested.
If the end-gate glass is not fully closed, the DIC displays "Tailgate Glass Down" when the rear defogger operation is attempted.
When the rear window defogger switch is pressed for the first time, the defogger cycle lasts 10 minutes. Further operation results in 10 minute defogger cycles.

Which fuse is for the rear window wiper and rear window defogger on 2003 Toyota 4Runner (V6)?

You Have one fuse for the wipers in the car. Left side of steering wheel and the back cover should list the fuses and location. The other box is located in the engine compartment above the battery. They should list the fuse locations under the compartment covering the fuses. Hope that helps
