all wiring systems now conform to european regulations so they all have same coloured wiring for same systems.
You should be able to locate a wiring diag online

Whatever was causing the problem may now have simple burned out the next weakest wire. That is why fuses are thinner than the wires they protect.

I will give you a site for free wiring diagrams and fusebox details. Go to Autozone.com and register your vehicle; then you can get the wiring and fusebox layouts free.

I would put in the standard fuse. Then find the Ignition relay and remove it. If the part number on the Horn relay is the same # Relay printed on the case, remove the horn relay and plug it into the Ignition relay position. Try and operate vehicle.

If this does not work, you will need to test the power into and out of the ECM and backtrack from the coil until you find power. The dead gap will be your burned out part. Remember that some stuff needs to have power with the switch on.

Now Dealers have wiring Pigtails. They substitute for your built-in wiring system. They can tell if a connector or length of wire is dead. Instead of a Mechanic testing pin by pin the whole connector is plugged into a tester and the tester does an all-inclusive job.

The igntion system runs on 12 volts DC, How ever the coil can deliver up to 40,000 volts DC. to the spark plugs via the wires.

The basics are fuel, timing and igntion. Seeing as you have changed the fuel filter and it runs for quite a while, you should take a look at the igntion system. The most common cause for your type porblem is the coil over-heating and shorting out. This could be caused by leaking plug wires or the coil itself is bad. Another less likely cause is the igntion module an-or the pickup coil.
With the approximate running time being the same, I'm betting the coil is the cause.

The 1991 vans did not have points, they have a fully electronic igntion system.

That is your problem. Because it is leaking, you don't have the right compression in the engine. You won't have power until it is fixed properly. Because of this, your igntion system is all out of wack. Everything has to mix perfect for it to run right my friend. Best of luck to you.

try anoth igntion key, if not a good moble auto locksmith should be able to diag this, if he can't you'll need to tow it to your local GM dealership. It could be the igntion cylinder, but there is more items involved in the security system besides the igntion cylinder & you need the proper test equipment for testing.

yellow -- constant 12v
white/pink -- starter
red/light green -- ignition
gray/yellow -- accessory
