SOURCE: immobiliser wont go off , wont unlock the doors.

There is a way to override the code, however you need the code number. The only other way is to sit in car with door shut, play with the central locking button on dash, locking and unlocking. While doing this occassionally turn the ignition on and off. If you do it long enough, you may find the immobiliser light goes out, if it does, quickly start the car.

SOURCE: 1999 Volvo S80 gas cap cover won't open when I unlock car!

Most likely the fuel door latch motor has failed. Pull down the trunk liner panel for that side by turning the knob next to the rear seat fold down 45 degrees. That will allow the panel to be pulled down. the latch is the small black box against the car body. It should have a manual release to get it open. Once open take out the two T25 torx screws and the motor will come out. Pay attention to how the manual release is routed and reassemble in reverse order.

hope this helps

SOURCE: volvo-left turn signal stuck on,not blinking

Remove the front turn signal bulb for the left side. There is a plastic lever if you look closely, push down the plastic lever and push forward and the lamp housing will come out.

Note: the plastic is very brittle and may break if not done carefully. Depending on the size of your hands the bulb socket can be removed in the car by turning the bulb socket base 45 deg. counter clockwise (if I remember right). Turn it one way and if it won't move turn it the other way.

With the socket unplugged start the car and see if the turn signal light on the dash is still stuck on. With any luck it will be off...

If the light is still on then there is a shorted wire somewhere in the system. If the light is off then we're on the right track.

Once you get the socket out remove and inspect the bottom side of the bulb. It should have two aluminum contacts on its base, if they are mushroomed and touching each other replace the bulb and recheck.

If the bulb is ok then replace the bulb holder. They sometimes short internally.

I hope this helps.

2005 Volvo S40 with key stuck in ignition. It turns off but key doesn't come, out of the steering wheel. Please advise needed, if lock change is required estimated cost of part and labour please.

Some ignition system locks will not release the key unless you push in towards the column while turning further off. It is a safety device to stop in advertent removal of the key while moving. Try that first.

My 1995 940 Volvo just lost power while driving and stopped. After trying to restart the car it seemed like it just wasn't getting gas.

I had the same problem and fixed it with only one nut to remove and one easy plug in part the Crankshaft Position Sensor is located between the firewall and the engine on the bell housing which connects the engine to the driveshaft Right on the top shine a light down in there and remove the nut to the left of the sensor sticking up and unplug it check the wires to see if they are rotted mine were all rotted and touching eachother went and bought the part at autozone for $55 plugged it in and it now works perfectly! hope this helps

Trunk will not open !

The trunk lock is incorporated in the central locking system. This means that you can either lock or unlock the trunk by means of either of the front doors. You can also operate the trunk lock directly with the master key even if the vehicle is centrally locked.

Are you sure it is the Master Key? Try the key in the glove box lock. The power door locks should unlock the trunk for you turn the key if it is right over to the right turn it right over to the left . you turn the key to far right to stop the boot been opened when the doors are not closed.

My 92 volvo 940 cranks but wont start, it has fire and fuel but wont ignite. What else could I look for that im missing? The car has been in are family since it was brand new and never had a problem like...

Check your timing. Sounds like you know what you are doing and if you have spark, fuel, and comptression it should run unless it jumped time. It could be off a tooth or two and still have compression. With high milage that would be something to consider.

93 Volvo 940 Threw timing belt, now won't start

The same thing happened to my 94 volvo 960 the engine belt was having the same problem, i changed it the belt, it was fine for a few miles after that it just died, does not fire, not sure if it is getting fuel, but the mechanic says the timing belt went off. you may have to check the crank sensor on yours.
