My gas tank started to get empty so I went to get gas. $40 later I had filled up and I got back in my car. When I started it up it said that my car was completely empty. I was told that it was the sensor box attached to the actual gas tank that has gone bad, but that is really expensive and I didn't know if anyone out there knew of anything else it could be, or something I could do to fix it that would be cheaper.
You could try tapping on the gas tank with a rubber mallet I have found sometimes this knocks a stuck sending unit back working again (rubber) mallet ! this is not fun to change, but is fairly inexpensive and a battery reboot might be in order as sometimes it can be the BCM making a fuss

Chrysler has a bulletin out for a simular condititon that involves replacing the pcm. Heres the bulletin number 18-005-04. This is only 1 possible cause , Fuel pressure, coolant temp sensor, thottle position sensor all can cause like problems. Seeing sensor values and fuel adaptives with a scan tool helps pin point problems.

This really sounds like your radiator fan is working. Slow speeds under 20MPH the fan is needed badly. Over 20MPH there is enough ram air to sufficiently cool down the radiator. You should find a fuse for it in the Power Distribution Center under the hood. Check big and small. If the fuses are good and you're convinced the radiator fan isn't coming on, try swaping the rad fan relay with another in the PDC. As far as the "Check engine" lite goes, a transmission fault can turn on the lite. However if your radiator fan is not working that will also turn on the "Check engine" lite.
Good luck with that and let me know if you still have issues.

I have finally found the problem, check your wire harness from the camshaft position sensor to the main wire bundle. Mine had a bad wire because it was secured and it laid across the coolant hoses running by the harness. I wrapped the wires and secured them with wire ties as best I could and it seems to have fixed the issue.

Tell me when you fill up how far do you go before it stops,,then how far does it go the second time and the 3rd time ,,Do the times get longer each time,, if so then your problem isent a big deal.
The problem you might have is that the return fuel pipe from the engine returning fuel back in to the tank,, and the TANK breather pipe which has to let air in as you cannot take fuel out and not let air back in ,,so it causes a vacuum in the tank... So check the breather before any thing else .. OR dont fill it up any more than the first click of the pumps .
Let me know how you get on Ron
