I just purchased a 2001 Ford Windstar Minivan. It has a drop-down-from-the-roof DVD player. I have no clue how it works as this is the 1st vehicle I've ever owned with visual media entertainment in it...and I am 50.

fist unclip wire,then unscrew it with a 28mm spanner ,fitting procedure is the reverse .It turns anticlockwise to unscrew and clockwise to screw up ,torque setting is a grunt and two scuffed knuckles and max of 3 swear words

This means that your key is not being recogonized.Ethier the chip in the key is bad or the patts transciever at the lock cylinder. Do you have a spare key? If not you will have to get 2 new keyss cut and programmed.

There is a ford radio removal tool. It looks like a pair of horse shoes most times. Or you can insert four 8 common D finish nails in the four holes (or 4 six D finish nails) -one in each hole until you feel it click. Be gentile. simultaneously push each side towards their respective front door and gently pull the radio out.
