Take the key out and turn steering as now the power steering will lock. The speakers crackle when the volume on radio are very high when you turned off engine and removed key. Try turning radio off first the turn off engine and it should not be a problem.

first and it's sort of obvious... make sure the motor is off.... look for a cap at the front of the motor where the fan belt is... may even be labled power steering ... you add the fluid there

Does it make a clicking sound as you are turning it? If so turn it until it clicks 3 times. If the cap is bad it will send a signal to the computer and then the check engine light will come on.
